Enough of their stuff has plasma under the fluff as well as most of the MEQ lists recently have been steering away from melta and relying on more plasma attacks not to mention all of the plas dark angels can through around. So other then Inwuisitors attached to a melee squad what could be a good way to field a plasma syphon? It'll so rarely come up, the Tau player can easily negate it by staying out of range of the syphon. A use would be to styme the 'stand still and get an extra shot' power. Move your Syphon into range, and they either stand still at BS1, or move and lose the extra shot. Or, they stand still and use Marketlights to bump up the BS1 from the Syphon. I could be wrong but I don't believe that's ever been the rule. Rapid Fire range is 12", regardless of the weapon's maximum range is it not?
