So, new to B&C, because I'm starting a new army. So I figure I should show you guys what I'm up to!

 

The chapter, Legio Vindictam, is to be a successor chapter to the Iron Hands, and therefore they're dark and like cogs and other things.

The idea is to have tactical squads six man strong with a razorback for each squad, and make the force very mechanized.

My little radio-vehicle for the command squad, called "Donkey". Thinking of renaiming it to the latin word for donkey.

nice painting indeed. i like the colors. only thing i might suggest is moving the dev marine's head a bit more toward his weapon. people dont crank there head 90 degrees when they aim.  for positioning of the head when the model is aiming, think of them looking somewhere between 90 degrees left and looking straight at the gun's sights.  of course, if this particular model is not aiming and simple noticing a new enemy, nevermind.

So I've been able to do a little work, mostly some basic rebuilding and the creation of a veteran!

So, time for an update! Yeahyeah, I KNOW it's been a while, but one kid at home and 31 at work take their toll... The ones at work is kicked away now atleast!

 

So. Today I got a package. And how does Danesk react when he FINALLY gets his long awaited package? Well, something like this:

I felt like a juvie on Emperors Day!

 

Next thing, I got my tools, my plastic and hacked away! And as these guys is supposed to be an Honour Guard (or acting commandsquad, if the points require it) I wanted them to look kind of elite. You know, the lads with the best toys. And this is my result:

Thanks jeremy!  haven't finished the donkey due to a lot at work, but I think that it will soon be fully done!

 

Today I have an update with PAINT! The first one with in the HG! Please bear with me though, he's still WIP and he was a tester for a lot of things.

Finally I got some pics! Yey!

 

The razorback is starting to shape up nicely, despite me being a novice in the plasticcard-world. She's going to have reinforced armour and some other nice things. Mostly swapped bits and some rebuilding.

 

So, once again I ask for all C&C you might have. I really want to improve in the buisness of building with white plastic...

And an idea that struck me regarding the positioning of the turret:


 

The idea is that I want some realism, and two major reasons for this placement is 1. the gun is closer to th front, ergo longer range ergo  the need for exposing sides in MOUT is decreasing and 2. the powerpack and all the tech is otherwise to be right at the door, and thus in the way when the guys are to leave the vehicle...

 

I forgot to take pics of the inside, but it is painted and done! So those pics will be of a later date...

guardian31: Thanks! I was in a little doubt on the rivets when the RB didn't have any paint, but now I feel that I got a decent amount of them!

 

This time there will be a lot of pics on the painted RB, and even though she still has some work to her she's getting there! I figure 1-2 hours left and then shes ready for the field!

 

The red lenses is looking really red, more than they actually are! The base is mercrite red, and I'm going to get a red wash do darken things up a bit...

And glaze is another thing that I will get to the lenses!

And finally, me and a buddy of mine diskussed the design-flaw in the raxorback. Both being in the tank corps we know that the turret NEED to take some place. So I decided to build the inside of the RB so that it COULD support a turret:

So, this page is up again, wonderful! I'm ashamed that I managed to forget it for a little time just because it was down... Ah well, to make amends! I've trying to keep up the painting, and managed to get a few more vehicles done and the HG about 95% done.

 

Firstly, a rhino. Got it used by a friend that quit 40K a couple of years ago, and he had some vehicles (1 land raider, 1 predator, 2 rhinos, 1 razorback and 1 dreadnought) collecting dust in a closet. He owed me 30 bucks, but gave me that instead. We were both pleased.

And, they started their careers as ultramarines. I've given them new colours:

I've got my second razorback done! Well, almost, there's still a few touch-ups that is needed... Oh well! I've also started on my troops with my first tactical squad for said razorback! They're not done by far, but considering the time I've spent painting them they're coming alone nice and quick!

Very nice stuff so far. Please keep it up. Really like the rivets on the vehiciles though not so much on the Dread. It does give your army some uniformity in a nice subtle way besides paint. Maybe make the ones for the Dreads smaller? Anyways, my 2 cents. Looking forward to seeing more.

I like where you're going with it. The Razorback always made more sense to me with the turret in the middle so it would have a better arc of fire to the front before the chassis got in the way if needed to declinate to hit targets up close or below it.

 

Of course, on that mark, your searchlight is blocking its ability to traverse. I've solved that problem by deciding to attach all of those gubbins to the turrets themselves.

 

But otherwise, I really like the modifications you've made and the scribblings on the tank give them a lot of character.

I'm actually looking into how to create smaller rivets in a quick and efficient way, I agree that the rivets is a bit large right now.

Well, I realized that the searchlight was in the when it was done, and I slipped a little "doh". It was although the first vehicle ever that Ive built on the new rhino-chassie, so it's learning by doing :)

Today I have new pics of my tacs, with a completed sergeant Bestia! The rest of the lads still have some work to be done on them, but I figure that it's less than 30 minutes on each.

Oh these are crisp! Look at those eye lenses, they're like something out of 'Eavy Metal! I especially like the freehand white stripes, but I have to ask because I've probably missed it elsewhere - do the stripes signify anything?

Thanks mate! The lenses surprised even me when I painted them, much quicker and easier than I thought it was!

Do you mean the stripes on the vehicles? They're just identification marking.

Edit: must remember about the turret-positioning when I get a razorback. Looks much better (plus Veteran Sergeant's suggestion about the searchlight).

Thanks! Easy scheme, but I find that it matches my paint style very well! The next razorback I pick up will also be according do his advice, and with some other ideas I have.

 

 

I've realised that the next kit I pick up will be a flyer. I need some aircover and I ain't in the mood for an AA-tank yet. Plus I have still to decide if the hunter or stalker is the most worthy...

 

Which flyer should it be? I ask as a brother that don't have a clue. For the moment the stormraven seems to be the stronger one, with better armour and transport capacity. The flyer is to keep the air clean and when that's done it is supposed to give air support.

 

What do you guys think? Anyone that uses both, or should I keep to only one?
