Chef Wulfen
I was looking in a local modeling store at some sandbag and walls for basing and I was wondering what the scale I should use for it. I was looking at the 1/35, I'm not sure if that would be to big. Thanks for the comments Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273986-basing-scales/ Share on other sites
Gurth
Some 1/35th-scale military accessories work fine with GW models, others will look very out of scale. Plastic sandbag sets are best avoided, if you ask me, for several reasons: one is that the bags tend to be on the large side even for the scale they're supposed to be (1/35th in this case), while another is that they hardly ever look realistic (a wall made of them will look a bit like someone piled bags of already-set concrete on top of each other). Last but not least, sandbag walls are very easy and cheap to make out of self-hardening clay such as DAS, which will allow you to make walls in any shape and size you like, and they'll look much more realistic to boot. High Marshall ulrick
I found a site that sells cloth sandbags that you can use to make your own sandbag wall from www.secretweaponminiatures.com Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273986-basing-scales/#findComment-3347071 Share on other sites

Gurth
I found a site that sells cloth sandbags that you can use to make your own sandbag wall from These? TBH, they seem rather pointless to me … self-hardening clay or epoxy putty will get you sandbags that will look more realistic Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273986-basing-scales/#findComment-3347421 Share on other sites

Echo the sentiments for clay or putty, and you can just put sand around them to look like some have split.
