appiah4
This is not 100% power armor related but it's about painting miniatures and I suppose could be used for many figures, and I don't post on any other forums so I thought I'd ask here. How can you paint such awesome transparent clothing like the one painted here? http://www.darkswordminiatures.com/shop/index.php/miniatures/george-r-r-martin-masterworks/cersei-lannister.html I've never seen something of the kind.. Gurth
By working out what colour the combination of cloth over flesh would result in, and painting it like that. Simple in theory, hard to do right in practice — basically, the answer to "how?" is "a lot of experience and probably talent", I'd say. Peredyne
The trick to doing transparent cloth is to spot the areas of the model where the skin would be right up against the cloth and pint those area with the skin tone you are using and then use glazes of the color of the cloth over the whole area. The glaze will make the cloth more substantial and appear to be translucent over the skin tones. It takes some practice to do it properly.
