Someone doesn't understand what exclusive means. None of the exclusives have been collected. It's been two years now since Promethean Sun?

Maybe the rest of us can read Aurelian around the time they write the siege of Terra...

I just don't understand the logic. Their fans

have put them up on the New York Times bestsellers list multiply times. So their thank you is to make sure only a couple thousand people can get "the full story."

Ahh well...eBay's better off at least.

Somebody doesn't understand what initiative means. Picked up my copy just today ;)

It's pretty bogus to do to books what they've done to models, as far as winding up customers and all that. I'm just glad they are not selling anything in blind packs yet, but I'm almost too afraid to post this comment lest it give them any ideas.

"Hey kids! Pick up a 40k booster pack today! You never know what you'll get! It COULD be a PRIMARCH!"

And then 99% of all models are close combat servitors or something like that.

But I don't know if this actually does anything for their BL sales or not (exclusives, limited editions, and "collectible" trade paperbacks.) My impulse is to say it shouldn't, but they keep doing it so it probably does. All I know is that whenever I go to the bookstore there are always books I want, 40k or not, so the inflated price of the larger collector volumes always loses out. I've seen the Angel Exterminatus book at my local for a while now, and I always pick it up and look at it, then put it down and go buy something else, because I know the mass market paperback will be out eventually. If I'm going to spend $15 to $20 on a book it's not going to be pulp sci-fi. Not while other military sci-fi franchises that are just as good as 40k are still coming in mass market editions from the get-go.

I don't even bother with exclusives at all. The relevant fluff information will be aggregated somewhere else as factoids, and there's plenty of other stuff I can spend my time reading that doesn't aggravate me when I purchase it.

Love the scene, hate the custodes. They look like the hulking brutes of the astartes.

I'm also not a fan of limited edition.

If it is a very advance release then is is okay. I hav no problems with a years worth of special releases being released a year later as an anthology. But these one time only mean the majority of us (and I'm from England) miss out on the whole story. I want to read the who.e of the heresy, but i Can't afford to go of all these events or buy the limited edition novella.

I hate it when they do this so hard.

Wanna know the whole story of the Horus Heresy? Are you from the Uk? Can you afford to come to Nottingham?

No?

I agree with you, for people out of England is hard to get some of the novellas, short stories, etc.. of the BL Horus Heresy, at least you know... "legally". The same for the FW miniatures and books. I literally cry everytime BL or FW throw some awesome thing in the table and I realize that It won't be possible to buy it. 50 pound for a miniature of Angron and 70 pounds for the Betrayal Book and I have to order them from a foreign country with the problems that it implies. That makes me think twice before buying anything of BL or FW.

Actually FW is not a problem. Here in Poland we're doing group shopping from FW. When you're buying stuff for more then 250 pounds then you get free shipping. It's even easier with BL, you just need to order stuff for more than €12, so you can easily buy just one direct exclusive and have it shipped for free.

Yeah, the same thing is going on here - works fine.
