Yosef Hausakluif
I have a great conversion of my own Lukas the trickster and as a side project I was thinking of using him once in a while with a small claw squad a as suicide type mission. I know it has been discussed before, but what load out and weapons would you use on a claw squad to accompany him, and would you include a WG with them and what would you load them all out with? I was thinking of Lukas, flamer, WG with power axe, and may be say 8 mans squad total? What do you think? hendrik
keep them cheap, and use them for what you truely want them to be used, that stasis bomb. personally i don't think this unit will ever bring back its points unless, for example you know for sure you'll be facing incredible CC mosters such as the swarmlord, abadon etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274107-lukas-the-trickster/#findComment-3349147 Share on other sites
Yosef Hausakluif
But that is why I would play it for the fun of it and the modeling opportunity. So, no WG, waste of points. All claws, flamer for free, and should I have a power weapon in the squad? Nrthstar
For all comers just leave the power weapon off, odds are that poor bloke may never even get a chance to swing that upgrade, so why waste the points? Grey Mage
Id take mark of the wulfen, for the extra attacks/MC takedowns. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274107-lukas-the-trickster/#findComment-3349348 Share on other sites
Grimtooth
I am guessing since the stasis bomb affects everyone in base to base with Lukas, that it would work even if he is in a challenge when he dies. The requirements of the stasis bomb do not require that he be in close combat with anyone and it is not wounds carrying over from the challenge to make other models eligible to be removed with the stasis bomb, so what do you all think? Blacksad
I used him and a 5 man squad to great success in last edition, using Lukas to death or glory filled land raiders and orc trucks... don't know if that's still possible now though, haven't read the vehicle rules for 6th yet, haven't used vehicles yet :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274107-lukas-the-trickster/#findComment-3350514 Share on other sites
Valerian
It seems to me like a pretty big investment for a "trick" that requires specific conditions to pull off, requires a relatively expensive character to die, and then still only works half the time. Blacksad
it's obviously not something to use in a tournament list, but it can be fun in fun games, and apocalypse. Ghostwolfalpha
Yeah, not tourney material, but could be awesome to play. I would stay with a 5-10 man squad with a flamer. Never used him as I dont like the randomness or bloodclaws for that matter. Could be a lot of fun though. Grimtooth
I would almost be tempted to go ahead and use him in a tournament specifically because nobody would expect it.
