Order of Corruption (DIY Renegade Chapter)

So this is my DIY Renegade Chapter i came up with along with the backstory, any coments on it and critique welcome, sorry no pictures yet

 

INDEX TRAITORIS: THE ORDER OF CORRUPTION

 

Superstitious, Brutal, self-loathing, these are all traits of nurgles most twisted and relentless warriors, these men have stalked the galaxy since the fall of horus, they are the order of corruption

 

Origins

these warriors were origionally members of the death guard and fought along side mortarion during the battle for terra, but after the fall of horus these men abandoned their brothers and fled, seeking shelter from the counter attack that would surely follow the assult on mankind, they were a band of 100 warriors, who had abandoned the death guard to start something much more vile, they landed on the daemon world of Tartarus, a world dedicated to nurgle upon which black water flowed and the dead still walked.

 

nothing was heard of these warriors till millenium 39 when a band of grey armoured giants over 500 strong attacked a hive world, the warriors butchered a number of imperial citizens before being driven back by the blood angels, shortly after the warriors were driven back the planet had a huge daemonic incursion and the zombie plague reanimated every person killed during the fighting, the planet was nothing more than a huge tomb for the still walking dead within a week, the order of corruption revealed itself, fighting along side the black legion during the 10th and 11th black crusade

 

Homeworld

tartarus is a daemon world, a world covered in huge cliffs of black rock coated in green fungi and huge marsh trees, the undead stalk this world and black rivers, waterfalls and oceans cover the planets surface. small cities are dotted accross its surface filled with cultists and small bands of chaos space marines, the great fortress of the order of corruption lies directly on the planets equator, a huge fortress spanning one of the many large islands dotting the foggy skied world, and at the northern pole of the planet lies the tower, a huge black spire surrounded by smaller buildings, it is home to the reaper, a daemon prince said to be one of the last remaining founders of the order, and his band of loyal sorcerers of nurgle. The planets 3 moons are all strongholds for the dark mechanicus, the dark creations held on those moons are rarely employed by the order, depite their power.

 

Organisation

despite being a chaos renegade chapter the order is still organised by rank, not sheer power, those warriors who fight in numerous battle and earn themselves titles in battle move up rank, at certain ranks warriors are allowed to challenge the high lord of the chapter to gain control, when beaten this warrior is usually shamed, he will either take the other warriors place and work his way back up or he will sacrifice himself to nurgle, seeing himself as not fit to serve his master in life any longer. each band of warriors swears theyre complete unwavering loyalty to theyre leader, only in the event of his death may they choose to leave and join a different squad or take command of the group themselves if the other warriors agree to it, if not they must prove themselves.

the only warriors who are deamed more powerful than the chapters leader are the sorcerers who serve the reaper, they have endured more pain and seen more battles than any other member of the chapter, they are allowed to execute any member of the chapter for any reason, they cannot be reasoned with when they make a choice and they will not allow anyone who disobeys them to live.

 

Combat Doctrine

These warriors are brutal and relentless in theyre attacks, the will not move if they choose to hold a position and they will not surrender no matter what the cost, they see surrender or retreat as a sign of weakness because it shows that a soldier is willing to give up if it saves his life, these soldiers are not worth saving in battle or fighting for.

each warrior fights not for his life but the lives of his brothers, they are all sworn to protect eachother and will do anything to ensure the safety of theyre warrior brothers

these men are trained to use cover to theyre advantage whenever possible, only a fool stands in plain sight and hopes to survive in a battle, they use vindicators to block passages between buildings or cliffs, and use terminators to ensure nothing gets within range to open a hole in theyre deffence, they are seen as some of the most tactical chaos renegades in battle.

 

Beliefs

these warriors all believe that nurgle is the one true god, for he is the lord of death and decay and therefore the lord of all mortal things, they see that those who try to fight nurgle are simply fighting death, something which is inevitable, for even the imperium and its false emperor will die.

these men fight with such determination for many reasons, to please grandfather nurgle, to destroy the corruption of the imperium and to stop themselves from being made pawns of the reaper, the reaper is responsible for the billions of undead the stalk tartartus and the millions of worlds that the order have attacked, these creatures do not die and unless the brain is destroyed are used by this twisted daemon forever, not even the fearless warriors of nurgle are at ease being near this creature, the death guard supposedly serve nurgle to be spared the fear of death, for the order of corruption, death isnt what scares them, its what comes next...

 

Battle Cry

there is no battle cry used by the order of corruption, for death does not speak, just as there is no symbol for the order, for death does not appear as an object, it just consumes...

 

Notable Events

001.M39-Complete destruction of hive world Haiga, population completely consumed by zombie plague, exterminatus action carried out before merchant ships could reach the planet and carry the infection further

 

M40-Complete extermination of the Brazen Skulls Chapter, remaining warriors imprisoned and sent to tartarus's moon Oranus, Warriors believed to be Executed by the Dark Mechanicus

 

417.M39-Forge World Kanatar infected with zombie plague by The Order Of Corruption, Imperial Titans dismantled and looted by Dark Mechanicus agents and returned to Oranus, world currently being purged by ordo sepulturum

Two things.

 

First, read the Octaguide (link in my sig!) section on spelling and grammar. Especially the bit about "their" vs "they're".

 

Second, they seem kind of like a standard Nurgle warband. I'm not sure I've seen one before, but these guys are pretty much exactly what I would expect. Is that what you were going for? If so, you've succeeded. If not, what are the more unique elements you're trying to bring out?
