Vourne
Here's the start of my Salamanders 2nd Company, starting with 2nd Tactical squad ( I didn't have any number 1 transfers). I started this project a while ago, however real life has delayed me getting on with it as of late. I also plan to update my blog soon too. I would love to eventually complete the entire 2nd company, one day anyway. Hope you like them. All c&c welcome. More updates to come soon! http://s7.postimg.org/btz2uy80b/image.jpg http://s17.postimg.org/vfi2sn8dr/image.jpg http://s18.postimg.org/e8rjrxxft/image.jpg http://s1.postimg.org/nrsqh11en/image.jpg http://s10.postimg.org/jvx89c6ll/image.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/pg2rntp7v/image.jpg http://s22.postimg.org/f64y2bopt/image.jpg http://s12.postimg.org/rd3q3rmp9/image.jpg
Firepower
Vibrant greens and flames, restrained but effective battle damage, a light dusting of weathering around the legs, sharp highlights... I will find something to nitpick. I just can't right now. ;)
KaosRaptor
Hot-damn! (hehe) Gotta agree with Firepower, these guys are pretty close to flawless. Looking forward to more!
Aqui
Perfect shade of green, and some of the best fire markings I've ever seen on any Sallie army. Awesome ^_^

Vourne
Thank you all very much for your kind comments. Wow, those are lovely You've nailed the green and the flames, and I love the sparse addition of battle damage What's next? My initial plan is to complete a playable 1500 point army. Next will be a Rhino to accompany the squad. Followed by a Terminator Chaplain that I actually finished a while ago but just needs a few final touches! After that I'm planning to get my Stormtalon airbourne, as it's been sitting unbuilt for a while now and deserves a lick of paint. The rest of the army is waiting to be painted. It's just a case of deciding what to do in what order.

Hahaha, I blame it being late at night with a combination of exaggeration and me not wanting to check exactly how long ago a made up event was in a made up universe. Point still stands though :p
Yosef Hausakluif
Your sallies look great. As others have said, the flames on the right shoulder guards are awesome, and the Sgt.'s skin and eyes are also spot on. look forward to seeing more of yuor work in the future! The Sergeants skin was actually the trickiest part of the whole squad, as it took a while to make it look natural and get the shadows and highlights right. Ripper.McGuirl
I agree. Your Sgt. Is the first time I've been convinced by the black skin/red eyes on a Sallies model. I totally get it now, and hated it before.

Dark Rage
Very nice, haven't seen many salamander armies, these look awesome really like the weathering on the armour and the scorched effect on the weapons.

The 40k Hobbiest
Nicely done! You certainly do the dust and battle damage better than I can. Flame, highlighting, parchment, it all looks great! But why are they all looking up?
Vourne
Thanks again for the comments. Where did you get the sgt's left shoulder pad from? The shoulder pad is from Forgeworld. It's part of the 10 peice set you can buy. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Space_Marines/Space_Marine-Infantry-and-Accessories/SALAMANDERS_MARINE_SHOULDER_PADS.html Nicely done! You certainly do the dust and battle damage better than I can. Flame, highlighting, parchment, it all looks great! But why are they all looking up? I didn't intentinally make them all to be looking up. Although some definitley are. I guess they are just watcing the skies for incoming threats ;)
