Vourne
Great Salamanders ! & first time I'm convinced by a unhelmeted Sally. Would you mind giving us your green recipe ? Nicest I've seen   Thank you!  It's a relatively simple process, with no need to mix any colours. All paints are GW Citadel colours. I started with a Chaos Black undercoat. Then using an airbrush I applied 2 thin coats of Warpstone Glow (Snot Green), or enough to get an even smooth coverage. I then shade the models by applying Nuln Oil to the recesses and joins in the armour. Please note this is not an overall wash, so is a little more time consuming.  Once the shading is done I then start the edge highlights on the armour. The first highlight is done with Warboss Green (Goblin Green). The final highlight is then done with Moot Green (Scorpion Green).  The chips and battle damage on the armour is done using Caliban Green (Dark Angels Green) and then highlighted on the bottom edge with Moot Green. The easiest way to do this is to actually apply the Moot Green first and then the Caliban Green on top leaving a thin edge of Moot Green on the bottom.  That's it basically. Perhaps I'll also post a tutorial for the flames too :)
One-eye
Thank you Vourne. I'm really impressed by the result you achieved with such a simple method. I'm in the process of choosing a PH Legion, and you made me step towards Sallies with this squad :)

Dosjetka
You've just reminded me how much I love that model. And you've most definitely done it justice :tu: Those flames are beyond amazing and you've nailed the black armour. The only things I'm not too keen on are those crack-like squiggles on the skull helm. But I'm just nit-picking ;)
Shas'o Simon
Vourne, Â Absolutely amazing work mate. Very much looking forward to your next update, in fact, they are almost too nice for my Tau to kill them.... Almost....... ;-)
Molgorain
If you ignore the underjaw on the Salamander-symbol, it looks like a Hydra-head. Alpha legion infiltrator Great paint job, specially like the flames and the flames on his skullhelmet. Looks like the rest have been burned away... Vourne
So, Vourne. What's the next model we will be seeing?  I'm currently working on the Rhino to accompany the Tactical squad. Followed by a Stormtalon!
Ripper.McGuirl
I totally dig the flames on the skull. If you want it to look more carved, maybe throw a highlight on one edge to fake some depth? Maybe in the "valleys" of all the flame tongues? Also, you are definitely beating me in the "black armor with flames on it" category!
Firepower
Skulls, flames, a pimp cane...seems he has everything you can ask for in a model. Â Well done, once again :)

Yes I agree, some edge highlighting on the skull flames would give it more depth. Skulls, flames, a pimp cane...seems he has everything you can ask for in a model. Vourne
Best Salamanders I've seen yet!! What is your way of doing the skin on the bare heads?? Thank you. The skin tone is done by firstly starting with a black base coat. I then build up the highlights by adding a small amount of white to the black, each time adding a little more white to each layer to build up a layer of progressive greys. You only need a tiny amount of white each time so you can build up subtle layers. Hope this helps :-)
