Painting Vow for Boomkapow

Recommended Posts

I...Boomkapow..., answer the challenge of the Unforgiven and vow to complete 9 death company (7 ccw/pistol and 2x Power Fist/pistol) and a Chaplain from Codex: Blood Angels of total value of 330 points on or before May 18. Success will bring eternal glory to the Blood Angels and failure will doom me to bear the sign of damnation until the year-end.

Expect pics in the near future!

Honestly I just saw the same Vow in a few other posts and figured that was the format. No idea what the challenge is a reference to. Any-who, here is a painting update:

I know the pic is kinda crap but i had to make due with my iphone camera tongue.png

My buddy is making a table so I will wait until that is done before I start basing them. Also, was going to have them all with jump packs, but they were too pricey, so I am putting them in a Rhino instead (pictured above). The regular jump packs are in the mail and will be swapped out as soon as they show up and are painted. Again, sorry for the crap picture, but it at least proves I am making headway with this squad.

ETL was an competition between forums.

Your models and painting look good! I especially like the bright colours breaking up the dc dark. :) Beautiful.

Points painted in total across the boards: 174,649 pts.

That's almost the equivalent of 700 landraiders or 4370 Terminators. I won't calculate I scouts......

I have a hope and a feeling that there will be another challenge in the near future so be ready and feast your eyes on last years epic event.

I had to pop in just because the thread title is so catchy, like a little limerick!

But now that I'm here, neat!  But the red crosses on the tank in particular could use a bit of tidying up.  And why yellow for mud effects?  It's like the tank went driving through a field of flowers and got caked in pollen.

Death to the tulips!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey all! No updates lately but I'm back to painting. I was curious how everybody felt about me painting a dreadnought instead of a chaplain. I just decided that my 1500 list that I am building towards would not include a chappy and, since the dred would be more painting anyways, I thought I would show that its not because of laziness. Let me know how you all feel about this. Thanks,

Getting the vow is currently difficult as the awarding competition isn't running..... So one option is making your own badge for completion, calling it something flashy.

Being awarded battlefield medals requires a war. There is currently no painting war, but I'm quite confident that there soon will be one. :) Patience. :)
