Brother dean
Pants, smants... It is one of the best Chaplain minis available. Genuinely fun to paint. Brother dean
It's always been a mild insult in the UK... I picked it up from Portent back in the day... Chaplain Killmer
Do you guys really like the new chaplains? I mean the powerarmored ones on foot. I always found them a bit lacking over the older models, but I have to confess that the jump pack one and the terminator are better than the old versions. Those are the only Chaplain models I'd consider using without conversion. Brother dean
Why you not like Chaplain Huggy Bear? http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440271a&prodId=prod1600008a I am quite happy with the current crop of Chaplains, my first chaplain is a 2nd ed version and he is a bit puny... http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w20/fred40k2002/Ravenwing004.jpg I am much happier with Chaplain in the Iron Mask: http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w20/fred40k2002/Dark%20Angels/DSCN9540.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274434-chaplain-in-the-new-codex/#findComment-3355489 Share on other sites
Tiger9gamer
do you need skull helmets to make a chaplain? like, is it a requirement? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274434-chaplain-in-the-new-codex/#findComment-3355689 Share on other sites
elphilo
do you need skull helmets to make a chaplain? like, is it a requirement? I guess its not a requirement per se. But it is a symbol of their office, so one would expect a Chaplain to have one. Onisuzume
It represents the Deathly Face of the God-Emperor of Mankind. So yeah, imo, its a requirement, along with the Crozius Arcanum and the Rozarius. As for models, I dislike most of the range, Asmodai (old version) and Seraphicus excluded. Tiger9gamer
well, I think you can get around it with black armor and/or different helms. Grimaldus and Asmodai don't really have skully helms. Brother dean
Chaplain Huggy Bear! I do like Enkomi's spartan helm over his skull helm... It's a nice touch. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Space_Marines/Space_Marine-Infantry-and-Accessories/ASTERION_MOLOC_AND_IVANUS_ENKOMI_OF_THE_MINOTAURS.html But even in the book Ravenwing, the Chaplain is only ever seen without at least a face mask when he is by himself. Several times we see him in robes and a death mask. Upstartes
I don't think a regular helmet makes much sense, but there are certainly some chaplains who forgo the helmet: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1050245 http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1140169 I like the idea of having no helmet, but having the chaplain paint his face to look like a skull. Tiger9gamer
the black paint does make the chaplain. How about the "crusader" helmet? think if you make this one all black, it would be a nice chaplain? http://www.thewarstore.com/product33966.html or maybe the unhooded one? Upstartes
I do like that helmet a lot. I think it would work admirably for a chaplain. I'd stick to the hooded version.
