Alright, so after hitting a wall with my Dark Angels & watching a lot of Vikings lately, I did a 180 & wrote up a Space Wolves list. I'm going to be trying to get this done ASAP as this'll probably be my last army before my local GW closes & I want an army to play before they shut their doors.

This is my old Lone Wolf/Wolf Guard Battle Leader. He's a leftover from when I originally was going to do a Bran Redmaw Great Company. I was originally going to have every squad that could, have a Mark of the Wulfen. Instead...

I've decided to go with Egil Iron Wolf's Great Company instead. So a power axe for every Grey Hunter Squad instead of Mark of the Wulfen.

Here's a shot of my Rune Priest. He'll be the only on foot HQ at 1500. After priming it, I'm not so sure about the helmet as I see the wolf's tail getting in the way when painting. I might go with one of the other, current helmets instead.

Something the Rune Priest made me realize is the original model is significantly taller. The axeman is standard, the Lone Wolf has a couple of spacers but except for the helmet, the Rune Priest is largely unchanged but is half a head taller than the axeman. Hmm, maybe when a pic that isn't so white washed will be clearer.

Hmm, had a busy couple of weeks but snuck in a bit of progress.

Did some base coating with the Rune Priest & I have to say I'm kinda digging the white cape with the dark armor. Still haven't decided on a color for it but I suspect when I get around to adding the Space Wolf Grey it won't be as nice a contrast. Well time will tell.

The reason I switched from Redmaw to Ironwolf was a change of allies from Sisters of Battle (would've only had the required troops, HQ & Seraphim as Shield-Maidens & Valkyries respectively) to Armored Battlegroup from Forge World. After all, in Ironwolf's blurb, it's said that heavy tanks provide fire for Rhino rushes. Land Raiders are great when it comes to fluff, but when it comes down to tabletop, Leman Russes are better overall deal.

If someone named a battle tank after your Primarch, then why the hell wouldn't you include some in your army? Is the Adminsitratum going to tell this guy no? Well, hmm I suppose using my logic they could conceivably have a legion of Malcaldor Tanks... Anyways these tanks still got some work to be done converting wise but they're relatively near completion. In the mean time, its time to work on the Grey Hunters.
