Dark En Raul13 Posted April 26, 2013 Share Posted April 26, 2013 So this is my idea for a new, completely different type of chapter than i dont usually try to create id like to know your thoughts on all this since its my first try CHAPTER NAME: ..............THE KNIGHTS OF THE STORMFOUNDING: ..................13TH FOUNDING, M36, UNCONFIRMEDCHAPTER WORLD: .............TEMPESTFORTRESS MONASTERY: ........THE MONASTARY OF THE ELEMENTSGENE-SEED (PREDECESSOR): ...UKNOWNKNOWN DESCENDANTS: .........BLACK LORDS(LOST IN THE WARP)"They come now...the sons of the storm, the monks of the tempest...they bring the speed of lightning to their foes and smite them with the strength of the hurricane...they are the Knights Of The Storm...and they shall hunt you till the emperor's last days" - Vox transmittion recovered from commisar Janus's body on Telsa Prime Origins: 872.M37, battle of Te'Kartu, during the 5th week of the seige of the fortress-monastary of the Emperor's Huntsmen chapter on Te'Kartu a large force of tau completely destroyed the chapter's home and nearly all of the chapter itself, the last 100 members of the chapter were pinned down in the remenants of their fortress-monastary when a large storm began forming above them, as huge streaks of silver light arched down from the sky, striking the remenants of the fortresses towers with unparallel ferocity, as the rain began to pound the ground and hope began to seem lost suddenly the foces of the tau became silent...the screams of their pulse rifles silenced after a sudden burst of bolter fire...as the remenants of the Emperors huntmen climbed out of their ruined fortress they were greeted by a grisly scene, the tau had been executed and left bleeding on the ground, hundreds of them lay dead and even more lay dying or drowning in their own blood. Stood like icy statues in the pounding rain where space marines, every one of them clad in misty grey and black iron armour...as a silver lightning bolt flashed accross a grim sky the winged leader of the warriors stepped forward, his face illuminated by white-hot lighting arching accross the sky..."we are the emperor's knights...for we are the storm". Since this day the chapter has been known as the Knights of the Storm, a band of religious crusaders who have dedicated their existance to the unification of the galaxy...by any means deemed appropriate.They are said to have been founded during the 13th founding but this remains a mystery since they have been rumored to have appeared even earlier than that, they have crusaded in the shadows for centuries and they have done this since long before the Battle of Te'Kartu, appearing as ghosts in the midst of battle, fighting to destroy an enemy completely and send a message at the same time, "the emperor commands you, and we are the enforcers of his will", and no matter what enemy they face, these warriors will ensure that the truth is written in blood..."The Storm Is Coming" Homeworld: The Knights Of the Storm call Tempest their home, for this world is what gave its name to the Chapter, due to its surface and seas being covered in endless thunderstorms, tornadoes, Hurricanes and tsunamies. The planet is a huge marsh world, its huge willow-like trees dominating its more untaimed areas and its large lakes and massive, wild oceans. The world is dotted with small settlements filled with tribal humans and some small villages filled with kroot who have devoted themselves to the emperor, these small settlements know little of the space marines who inhabit the great fortress of grey stone located on the equator of the planet, they are the source of the chapters recruits but only when taken are they finally revealed the truth about the galaxy... The Monastary Of The Elements is built into the great cliff that covers a 1/3 of the planets equator, it is a huge grey stone Monastary, a massive structure that hangs out over the great cove of Unending thunder and faces the huge rolling waves of the black ocean, its huge grey stone walls are curved around the sides and bottem, it leads deep into the great cliff and it exists as a huge structure of darkened stone, forever watching the rolling waves and as a sanctuary to the creed of the storm Combat Doctrine: The Knights of the Storm are barbaric in their method of warfare, they are relentless in their pursuit of an enemy and unending in their attempts to destroy them. The Chapter itself is renowned for using savage, relentless assults to weaken an enemy in every way possible, causing their moral to diminish and their defence to eventually fail, these tactics have proved effective but are unparallel in viciousness, these methods have earnt them a reputation for unparallel cruelty and savagery during assults, they are considered the pariahs of the adeptus astartes due to this and very few chapters will even hold the thought of fighting alongside them. Organisation: The Chapter is organised into 7 different companies,each one holding 100 marines, each one being different in their fighting styles and each one lead differently, The 1st company is the high order of the knights of the storm, lead by 'High Father' Darius, the leader of the entire chapter, the 1st company is his personal military force, and is the most respected and high ranking of the entire chapter. The Chapter itself doesnt use a single company to organise an attack, instead different warriors from each company are put into a execution party, this is then sent out to deal with the specified enemy, these parties often include priest or high priest terminators from the 2nd company, brother marines from the 4th, 5th and 6th companies of tactical marines, jump-pack equipped preachers from the 3rd company and tanks and flyers from the final, largest, 7th company. Instead of being to refered to simply as marines, each warrior is refered to as a different religious rank, as listed in order from highest to lowest below -High Father, chapter master -Father, captain -High Priest, generally a sergent -Priest, generally a sergent -Preacher, Jump-Pack equipped warrior -Armored Brother, marine in-charge of the chapters vehicles -Brother, normally a normal marine or new recruit The remaining 300 unassigned brothers are refered to as the "Keepers" these brothers are tasked with the maintainance of the great monastary, the teaching of the creed of the storm to the people of tempest, the recieving and care of new recruits, visitors and imperial servants and the monitoring of the space around Tempest Beliefs: The Chapter holds the rigid beilef referred to as the "Creed of the Storm", this belief teaches that when the emperor finally gives up his life a great war between chaos, xenos and mankind shall begin, a war to dwarf that of the horus heresy or the great crusade, these warriors fight to ensure that the enemies of mankind are thinned out before this great war begins, the war they simply refer to as "the approching storm". The chapter also holds the belief that faith is true power, and the chapter is organised more like a church than a military force, each brother is trained to follow all the teachings of the the creed of the storm and to defend his fellow brothers from the enemies of mankind, this has lead the chapter to become a unbelievably loyal, ritualistic chapter, it has become so obsessed with religion that brothers who believe themselves to have failed the creed form companies of suicidal marines who seek forgiveness in the form of death Battlecry: the warriors battle cry is simple and chilling to hear, for these warriors have earnt such a barbaric reputation that it is a widly feared sentence..."WE ARE THE STORM!" "We have thought for all these years...sacrificed so much to gain so little...yet we still showed more loyalty than you traitor...you turned against your own kind because you thought you were stronger...you may kill me Festus, but the wrath of the storm shall fall upon you my fallen brother, and all who follow you..." - Father Hanatus after being captured by The Fallen Angel Festus, his remains were recovered by the Dark angels and returned to Tempest as a peace offering between the chapters. Also, "We Are The Storm!" isn't particularly threatening - though I suppose hearing "We Are The Fluffy Bunnies Of Paradise!" might be threatening when should by even a dozen eight foot tall killing machines. "We like ponies! FOR THE EMPEROR!" might sound threatening too. Shouting "I love you" isn't very threatening at all, but yelling the same thing is German will freak out just about anyone that's near.
