Astral Pathfinder
Simple question : do you glue green stuff with plastic glue or super glue ? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274660-how-do-you-glue-green-stuff/ Share on other sites
Coconuts
I would personally use super glue for it. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274660-how-do-you-glue-green-stuff/#findComment-3358634 Share on other sites
IndigoJack
I use super glue, but I imagine plastic glue working fine too. Specifically, I use loctite super glue with gel control, but sometimes I use loctite liquid super glue. Machine God
Apart from the stuff just adhesing itself to stuff? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274660-how-do-you-glue-green-stuff/#findComment-3358645 Share on other sites
Razblood
Plastic glue does not work  Super glue or Epoxy Adhesive are your go to glues. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274660-how-do-you-glue-green-stuff/#findComment-3358650 Share on other sites
Ramell
Definitely super glue. Plastic cement can't react with green stuff.Apart from the stuff just adhesing itself to stuff?Won't adhere if it's dry. Gurth
Won't adhere if it's dry. It's always dry. Well, unless you put water or something onto it, then it's wet But as far as glueing it is concerned, you're not going to get far with plastic cement — as said, superglue or epoxy glue are your only real choices. UltraRich
I agree that super glue is the way to go If I make purity seals I always put a spot behind them to make sure they bond. If its a bigger piece I sometimes pin it by using a pin vice to drill a hole then use a cut paperclip and super glue. This give a really strong bond Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274660-how-do-you-glue-green-stuff/#findComment-3358741 Share on other sites
Seleucus
You have not said whether you are talking about fresh, just made up GS or cured GS (12-24 hrs plus normally) such as mouldings etc. If fresh, then glue is rarely required - just press on the model and shape then leave to cure. The only exception to this would be when you are joining two metal or resin pieces together and they do not fit correctly - there is a gap. in this case, some super glue on each piece before putting a piece of GS on one and pushing them together will give a stronger bond and fill the gap. scrape off any GS that escapes from the gap to tidy it up. I would still consider pinnig as well if the two pieces are large enough. If you are looking to put cured GS on a model, for instance a piece made in a press mould, then super glue is best. Does it requires primer before painting ? No, seriously, 24+ hours super dried sculpting green stuff made by GW. Super glue works fine I just wondered it would work with plastic glue, thanks :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274660-how-do-you-glue-green-stuff/#findComment-3359126 Share on other sites
Xenith
It's not polystyrene, so don't use polystyrene cement. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274660-how-do-you-glue-green-stuff/#findComment-3365281 Share on other sites
