Ganders
Does anyone know a good way of portraying blood spray/splatter on faces? I'm painting a Flesh Tearer without helmet and want to show him mid battle. I've found a good tutorial for blood on power armour and chainswords but cant find anything for blood on skin. I dont want to cover him in gore but id like to show him with scratches and splashes of his own and other blood. Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274691-blood-splatter-on-faces/ Share on other sites
Vivster
Use the new red glaze or you can alternate on blood colours on scars since there is a variation between the dark red old blood and blood red blood. Have a look at the awesomepaintjob video on youtube on how to paint blood and gore Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274691-blood-splatter-on-faces/#findComment-3359281 Share on other sites
nurglespuss
Use Tamiya Clear Red, and an old tooth brush (for splatter), the stuff is fantastic. I'm new at using it, but here's what you can do with it very quickly: http://angelsofbaal.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/odjective1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274691-blood-splatter-on-faces/#findComment-3359298 Share on other sites
Ganders
Thanks for the advice guys. I checked out the vid which helped a lot. And thanks nurglepuss, that was a bit too much gore and blood than i needed for me but it looks awesome. So this is what i ended up with. Its ok for a first try and i'm sure i'll improve as i go. http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii160/gordonayr/poss4_zpsbb731f3e.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii160/gordonayr/blood_zps6837c698.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274691-blood-splatter-on-faces/#findComment-3359370 Share on other sites
Tyrannicide
While the blood on the armor and chainsword need some more depth, and maybe some gloss effects - the blood on his face looks like sprayed, dried blood. Very good job for a first I'd say! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274691-blood-splatter-on-faces/#findComment-3359373 Share on other sites
