Octavulg: They totally do, that name was thought of half way through a night shift if that makes if defensible?

Aegnor: Star Talons would maybe work but Steel talons already exist as do the Imperial Talons, so too similar imo. And personally, I am not a fan of Chapters using their Primarchs name in their own.

The names I have thought of so far, and the problems I see with them are:
Star Raptors- would require a change in colour scheme as the two don't go together imo.
Accipiters- hard to pronounce/doesn't flow of tongue easily?? Although it is growing on me.
Secutors- not very fitting for sons of Corax? I also more imagine them in gold armour instead tbh.

I would like to look to the fluff for inspiration and Deliverance Lost helps with the depiction of the RG Company banners (sword, shield, wing and claw emblems in white, silver or gold upon fields of black) and also with the naming of the Companies post-Istvaan (Talons, Hawks, Falcons and Raptors)

Though the Horus Heresy has given precedent to Raven Guard 'talons,' successor Chapters with such 'talon' or 'claw' tend to be Iron Hands, no? I also think that there is a Mechanicum 'secutor' faction already, though I can't recall the details.

Decided to take a break from brainstorming and read Corax:Soulforge. Thoroughly enjoyed it, answered a couple of things but left me with a few questions.

But most of all it has left me with a sense of vindiction in making my RG successors specialise in air assault. :)

Update time.

I have decided to change the name from the Shadow Falcons to the Accipiters after the name grew on me. So far I have only found one reference to the name being used for a Chapter and that was on the German Lexicanum, so I am happy to use it.
I have also slightly tweaked the colour scheme, and have found an idea on another forum that I wish to use, and will get to writing that in over the next couple of nights.

Now, would it be better Forum etiquette to perform a large edit this thread or start a new one??
