Brother-Captain De Angele
Hey there B&C, I just recently returned to 40k after a pretty long hiatus. So here is my first marine after the period http://i1307.photobucket.com/albums/s597/SororitasWH40k/FIRSTSM_zps101952ab.jpg its not fantastic, didnt realise until after i primed it it had mold lines and some random not clean up sprue. but im still happy with it, a little streaky and in need of a few highlights. I was after some feedback. So C&C would be appreciated De Angele. Machine God
Looks OK to me. Minor quibble being as it doesn't have a backpack or even a bolter, maybe you should have posted in Works in Progress. Captain Semper
Well, I moved it to WIP forum - maybe more people will offer feedback. Personally I think it will benefit from highlighting - the more effective way to do it (in my rather limited experience with reds) is to mix orange to your basic red (avoid whites as you're you'll end up with a pink result). Then use a red ink (Baal Red from the old range works fine) to tone down the sharpeness in contrast... Welcome back and keep it up! Durfast Spiritwolf
Yes, welcome back. If you've been away for a while, you also wish to try washes Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274726-my-not-so-anticipated-return-to-the-hobby/#findComment-3359815 Share on other sites
Disruptor_fe404
I would also recommend washes! The eyes stand out though, I like them. Brother-Captain De Angele
Thanks for the feedback, @Disruptor; Doing those eyes was really fun, I started with goblin green, then you leave some do scorpion green then a dot a skull white, you have to do it while the paint is wet then you blend it with water. Its pretty difficult but i have a 10/0 brush so I think that made it easy Also i tried washes for this update. here's the new update after a long time again. http://i1307.photobucket.com/albums/s597/SororitasWH40k/SMUpdate_zpsc413dc76.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274726-my-not-so-anticipated-return-to-the-hobby/#findComment-3367982 Share on other sites
