Thunderhammer Detailing

Recommended Posts

Evening,

so my marines have their own version of Lysander, and he has his own version of The Fist of Dorn Thunderhammer. I'm going for something  like the clear hammer from the Space marine game, but I'm wondering about detailing and painting.

Does it need a pin through it? this is obviously handy structurally and could give an idea how power gets from the handle to head
Gubbins on the handle?
Grips on the handle?
And painting? Does the head need it, do I give it a light wash?

The one in Space Marine isn't actually clear, the power field is just really glowy.

That being said, what you're going for seems pretty boss, so I say roll with it.

I recommend grips, as well as gubbins right under the head. And I would give the head a light wash to tint it if you do end up using a pin, but that's up to you. You might like the effect of the perfectly clear thunder hammer. It'd certainly stand out!
