BrotherCaptainArkhan
Greetings all, I have for some time being reading up on the process of making my own decals. Unfortunately, I don't have an inkjet printer, nor easy access to one, so I'm wondering if there's a market in ordering custom transfers. As I would be doing a big bulk order anyway, money's not really an issue; quality is however. Anyone know of anywhere reliable? I realise most modellers who go in for custom transfers tend to make theirs themselves; if anyone is good enough to make transfers to order, I'd be very interested in talking to you. I would prefer to buy from the UK to avoid obnoxious shipping charges, but could be flexible. Cheers in advance, Arkhan Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274870-where-can-i-order-custom-waterslide-transfersdecals/ Share on other sites
henrywalker
Transfer paper comes in two kinds. Ink jet and laser. The laser is much better. If you have a laser not an ink jet then try that. Print shops are very helpful for this too. They won't have a laser but a color photocopier works for the laser paper too. Afraid I don't know any where to buy custom ones but I figured my two cents might be worth something Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274870-where-can-i-order-custom-waterslide-transfersdecals/#findComment-3362482 Share on other sites
BrotherCaptainArkhan
I actually didn't know you could get laser-friendly paper. OK, ordered a 5-sheet pack of clear paper for laser printers from here: http://creativepaperco.com/laser-printer-paper In case anyone reading/lurking is in the same boat as me, I'll post here how I get on with it. henrywalker
Glad I could help. Inkjet has to be sealed after you print which is a right pain and it makes it thicker. Laser doesn't need sealing. Good luck Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274870-where-can-i-order-custom-waterslide-transfersdecals/#findComment-3362489 Share on other sites
GodEmperorOfMankind
I bought some laserjet decal paper and printed some hazard stripes on it. Looks pretty good, a little washed out but much better than I could paint! I may go over it in paint actually.
