PensacolaWarhammer
Well, I'm back to finally update my blog again with another installment of my Horus Heresy Tactica. Today, I went over the Techmarine. To be blunt, I have always found it hard to justify taking one of these guys. They don't bring a whole lot to the table, and generally they take up points and a slot choice for something better. The same holds true for the Heresy Techmarine. You can read the detail run down on my blog PensacolaWarhammer . As always, let me know what you think, and let the discussion begin. Sevatar
Me too. I really want to use them...but... ah.. Hopefully Ferrus Manus will have some juicy rules for Iron Fathers - one thing I have always wanted to field. PensacolaWarhammer
@Sevatar I agree. They are interesting, but just don't bring much to the table. Hopefully, you are right and that the Iron Hands do something to boost them up some. Cod
I have actually decided to use a tech covenant in a legion list, not because they are real good or anything, but for fluff reasons. Been playing around with a mech/armour force, something like the old ironwing (but with a couple of little twists) and figured to keep the motor pool going they must have techies! Also having 4 slots for elites hasn't hurt that badly, but yes you're right there are more better choices, more powerful more cost effective choices to be made. Massaen
The main issue is that they are not independent characters and thus can't join squads... PensacolaWarhammer
@cod_lover Your reason for taking techmarines is the only reason I can come up with for taking them. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274898-horus-heresy-tactica-legion-techmarine-covenant/#findComment-3364855 Share on other sites
depthcharge12
Yeah they'd be useful like everyone's said if they could join a squad. Then the addition of rad grenades and a PW or hammer would be useful, specially the 'nades. Maybe Iron hands/warriors will change that. If that is true and they become ICs then mech warfare will be back in. Imagine running the armored spearhead rite of war and throwing some juiced up techies onto squads to help their charge and keep their ride functioning while it pushes on.
