Wolf Priest + Long Fangs w/ Plasma Cannons=Gets hot reroll?

So, I'm not real on this, thought I'd get some advice:

Wolf Priests have the Preferred Enemy USR, allowing them and any unit they join to re-roll failed To Hit and To Wound rolls of 1 in shooting and close combat.

My question:  Would this allow them to reroll the Gets Hot! dice for a plasma cannon if the Wolf Priest were in a long fangs pack?

For Gets Hot! on weapons that don't roll to hit (like Blast weapons), you roll a d6 for each shot.  On a 2+, it goes off normally.  On a 1, the model suffers a wound subject to armour saves and the shot isn't fired.

HOWEVER, it says in the next section that if a model has the ability to reroll its rolls To Hit, a wound is only suffered if the To Hit re-roll is also a 1.  It may also re-roll Gets Hot results of 1 for weapons that do not roll To Hit.

I'm a bit sleep deprived, and I want to make sure I'm not misinterpreting: does this mean that Long Fangs w/ Plasma Cannons joined by a Wolf Priest could reroll any rolls of 1 on the Gets Hot?

If so, Logan Grimnar, 5 Plasma Cannon-armed Long Fangs, and a Wolf Priest will be Drop Podding in to my next game.

You're not missing anything, I just really like using Logan.

My wife gave me Grimnar for my birthday a couple years ago, she had painted it so well that I would argue it looks better than those by 'eavy Metal.  Anyway, by sheer coincidence, I proposed to her a couple weeks later ; )

Logan tends to pod in w/ Long Fangs with my lists, though I suppose they could start in the back field.  I like the flexibility it offers, plus the ability to keep my warlord off the table first player turn if I don't go first.  I started using Multi-meltas, later I switched to the cheaper Heavy Bolters which have been quite effective. Plasma Cannons with a very small chance of overheat death will be fun to try.

Logan's ability to grant the pack relentless is amazingly good when coupled with a WP. It's an insanly expensive pack and kind of a 'all or nothing' idea, but one I have used with mixed results leaning more towards the good side. I use 3 HB and 2 PC in my pack though. The two weapon types have the same range, so shooting at different targets or the same dosent nerf one or the other weapon types. I have also found that Logan is a great baby sitter for a LF pack, OR a huge lightning rod. Either way it's a fun, tough as nails unit that is sure to scare the pants off of your opponent!!

End of Line
