Vijok
Greetings Brothers! After 3 years of collecting my DA, I finally decided to colour them. My painting adventure started only 2 months ago (not counting maybe 20 LotR figures about 10 years ago). Battle damage, freehands and bases will be added later - I have a lot to learn. So here we go. C&C are welcome. http://imageshack.us/a/img96/9396/vindi2.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img856/801/vindi1.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img11/7635/scout2x.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img41/7620/scout1h.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274974-vijoks-unforgiven/ Share on other sites

Spaced Hulk
Nice work (and nice to see a Srg Naaman model again too! ) Have always prefered the old metal scout models to the new plastics. Vijok
Thanks for a warm welcome. Yup, metal scouts are way cooler than plastic ones - still have 6 to paint. And here's what i've finished today: http://imageshack.us/a/img835/641/dreadg.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img203/9880/vendreadg.jpg Hope You like them. Roma
The dreads could certainly use a bit more colour, but still very nice, especially the left one. I would really do some text on the purity seals/parchments on the dreads. Gillyfish
I'd agree with the need to add a little more colour to the DW dread on the left. Perhaps some metallics on the plasma cannon. You've made a good, solid start to painting and you have a very neat style. If you're looking to improve, the next step would be to add a little more definition and shading to the faces (plus painting the eyes) and then try some iconography. Free-hand can be scary, but isn't as difficult as it looks - as with many things, practice makes perfect! Hope that helps and [please do post some more pictures! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274974-vijoks-unforgiven/#findComment-3365990 Share on other sites

elmo
Great work.... so far. ;) I have to agree that the metal scouts are far nicer than the square jawed plastic ones. Personally I like your dreads. Maybe just a little text and iconography with a bit of colour on the plasma cannon and they will be good to go. The old style chaplain is a bit of a squat compared to the new one. Maybe build up the base to increase his height. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274974-vijoks-unforgiven/#findComment-3744799 Share on other sites
Vijok
Thanks for your comments. Here`s part 2 of my Chaplain ETL vow (3 models left to paint and the deadline is so close):http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd486/vijok/ETL%202014%20part%201/DSC01894.jpghttp://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd486/vijok/ETL%202014%20part%201/DSC01898.jpg 1. Painting after nightshift (without any sleep) is not a good idea2.
