XKhalilX
i realize what the tau empire are with their superiority as tau, i was thinking of because of a this phase colony, theyd be a bit more "progressive" and with gue'la now inherently part of their second and this phase colonies, i think it would be a natural progression to begin seeing them as equal standing Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275006-astartes-with-tau-as-brothers/page/2/#findComment-3369178 Share on other sites
Octavulg
I dunno. People who think they're superior tend to do so for a lot longer than a few generations. And that's about all we can probably say on that subject. Brother Abaqi
I think that the amount of time that these theoretical marines are within the Tau empire and 'playing second fiddle' as it were should come into consideration. Both sides have some valid points, but as soon as the chapter moved out of the period of time here their very survival was at stake, I'm sure some of the veteran members would reassess the situation for the devil's bargain that they had entered. And while there would be no going back to the Imperium with their tails between their legs, they may decide that chapter doctrine and belief no longer aligns withe the Greater Good and they may go about fighting the Tau again. The Tau, for their part, probably won't change their outlook of equal but greater. It has worked for them so far and the etherials wouldn't have it any other way. And having a more traditionally minded Etherial take charge of the sept and have the greater good show less favor to the chapter could lean it in the favour of Octa's line of thinking. So ultimately, I think it would depend on how much independant thought these marines express and just how inexperienced or non-indoctrinated the chapter is as a whole. And if/when the chapter does turn away from the Tau, would they continue to fight for the good of the Imperium if not actually for the Imperium?
