You have no idea of how much I am hating you right now. Khorne is King Calm by comparison. Captain Wrothnik McHugerage of the Angry Marines can not equal my hate of all those screen wipes. I hate humanity for producing that unholy mess of a film and envy the dead that they might never know such wooden acting and abysmal diolouge. My displeasure at you at this moment makes that time when an ork stole Khan the Betrayers pet kitten seem like a picnic because you had to remind me about all of the time the camera was on an angle or had a green filter on it. You know that time when Angron got locked out of the Brass Citadel and had to sleep in the Juggernaut Pen? He was not more angry than I am at this moment now I remember the god awful conclusion to that film. I can not express to you fully how much I despise that film. If I was to spend time in solitary confinement I would sooner bite open a vein and doodle on the walls in my own blood to alleviate the dull than watch that travesty. I am a little vexed that that memory, nearly blurred and drunk into surly oblivion, is now back in such sharp focus. Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since you mentioned Battlefield Earth. There are many miles of blood vessels that fill my body. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each capillaries of those many miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant. For you. Hate. Hate. Can't really remember. It's clearly based off of the old Hulk Buster armors, though it may not have been devised in the movies for the same purposes. I always thought they were one of Stark's dumber ideas. When the Hulk starts rampaging and you need something to meet that threat, your solution should not be to try to meet him head to head in a contest of strength. The Hulk wins those fights. The Hulk wins all those fights. Stark would be better off in his normal suit, using speed and agility to his advantage. Not going up to him and getting into a slug fest to see who can stay conscious the longest. Even after seeing him go up against Sentry in World War Hulk, still they underestimate the big green dude. Why, I don't know. And yeah, it there are a few similarities in appearance between it and terminator suits but come on. GW doesn't just sue people at the drop of a hat. Stop bandwagoning. Koremu
Getting back to Geneseed and things related; It was implied in earlier material (I think 2nd Edition Codex Ultras) that you could get more than one new Marine per harvested Progenoid The Progenoid has also been implied to have other functions than just replication - it's also a regulating and regenerating organ. This is one reason the second one is usually left in the Marine. The Chest progenoid is not easy to get out. You have to go through the ribcage to get it. If this doesn't strike you as a problem, then re-read what the Ossmodula does. There's a reason the apothecary carries a chainsword attachment on his reductor. Not every tabletop casualty is a dead marine. Only those killed by Instant Death mechanics are guaranteed deceased (and probably gibbed to boot). High-power weapons (Power Weapons, AP1&2 weapons) are likely severely injured and may be dead, but a Marine shot by an ordinary gun should simply be incapacitated. It must be remembered that Marines have far higher rates of survival when wounded than ordinary humans. Easily half their implants are not designed to make them more effective combatants, but to make them survive injury. Their immune system is proof against most infection, their pain tolerance and hypnotic control of their physiology makes them nearly immune to shock, their second heart & lung make it nearly impossible to kill them by organ destruction, oxygen starvation or drawning, and the Larraman cells make bleeding out absolutely impossible. A marine who steps on a anti-tank land-mine will probably need a new leg, but he'll almost certainly be back in combat as soon as that bionic replacement beds in. The Black Carapace makes marines adapt to bionic replacements as easily as wearing their own armour. Marine death rates will be way, way lower than any normal human unit because of this. If it doesn't kill a marine outright, he'll probably be back.
