Whats the best color to use to highlight say blood red on the rims of SM shoulder pads?

I've found Wild Rider Red to be a good highlight for red's, follow by a sepia wash.  Maybe a finial highlight or troll slayer orange just for the very edge of the shoulder pad trims?

I think Evil Suns Scarlet is a lighter red than Blood Red (but I am unsure).  I've also used an orange to highlight Blood Red in the past and its worked out fine

I use a mix of Mephiston Red and Tallarn Flesh as I find it's a bit softer than Orange.

Orange generally works well. I use Khador Red Highlight (from PP), but any mid-tone orange works. For second and later highlights, I add bonewhite so it doesn't become too orange in the end.

i use a 3-1 mix of mechrite red and P3's carnal pink

Vomit Brown for me mate - it looks a bit yellow, but it comes up a treat.

Haven't tried it myself, but BuyPainted highlights with Vallejo Model Air's Scarlet Red and then a final highlight of VMA Fluorescent Red. He airbrushes them on, but you could use a brush.

Vallejo brown rose for me, not keen on how orange a model looka if you use wild rider, but it depends on the red being highlighted and what the material in question is meant to be

I use Wild Rider Red, followed by an extremely light edge brushing of Kindleflame, just to catch the light on the edge.

Old: Blood red -> blazing orange -> vomit brown

New: Mephiston -> ES Scarlet -> Wild rider red
