Model Masterclass - Forge World.

They're good and worth the price tag (in that the information is solid, the quality is good and the subject is relevant), but I think almost all, if not all of the techniques are brought over from military modelling and could be found online or in military magazines for significantly cheaper. So, if you want to see the techniques on 40k models in one place in a very nicely presented book, then it's a good buy. If your happy to do research into the techniques and dip into military modelling, then it's on the expensive side.

Most of the techniques in there deal with weathering and adding micro detail to vehicles. You'll find a good number of the techniques in use on these boards if you spend some time reading through various topics (the ones with a decent page count are a good place to start).

I'm only talking about Volume 1, as I don't have Volume II yet. i'm told it's "more of the same with different models" though.

For £5 a pop you won't buy a better mag online than the AK ones. The physical versions always sell out world wide, they're that good.

You may want to take a look at FAQ 2 as well.

For awesome freeness download the catalogue that  includes lots of step-by-steps!

Thank you all for the replies, I've bitten the bullet and just ordered them, I think having all the knowledge in one place and relevant to 40k will make life easier.

I'll definitely checked out your suggestions as well DarkMark.

Thanks again.
