Heavy weapon Terminators as Oblits

Recommended Posts

I'm considering using the DA plasma cannon bit and the GK psilencer bit to create a heavy weapon Terminator as a count as Obliterator.

I think it would look cool but the two big guns might unbalance the look of a Terminator too much, so I'll have to do some testing.

Wasn't the original concept for the Obliterator a marine with a special issue Terminator armor containing a lot of weapons?

Nope, they were (and are?) a fusion of man, armour, weapons and daemons. They absorb weapons into them by touch and can recreate them, and can also form amour plates around themselves. The original oblits were pretty much all mechanical, none of this 'pulsing flesh' look that the new ones have.

Nothing wrong with up gunning terminators and using them as oblits. I've done it to mine. Check out Insane Psychopath's obliterators in his thread.

That is what I have been doing.  A little bit of green stuff to add some organics melding the weapons together.  I have also added a shoulder mounted lascannon and twin linked weapons above the heavy weapon.  If you use the power fist modeled termies, it gives that portion of the weapon load out as well.

Does anyone know what hands the plasma cannon and psilencer are?

The GW site shows plasma cannon as being right-handed, psilencer as left:

I've got a box of the GK termies, so I know that one is correct happy.png

Ok that was my understanding as well, but I was hoping to have it confirmed by actual owners.

I encourage you to make the terminator conversion. The current oblit models are an eyesore.

Maybe you can add some techmarine harness to the TDA, will do the job nicely happy.png

They do, indeed, look horrible (though still a lot better than the madness that is the Mutilator). I'm doing mine as weaponized Techmarines, and I enjoy the look even if it is a little over-the-top ridiculous with just the Artificer Armoured marine. A friend has converted a TDA with Servoharness that looks phenomenal, and would most likely look better when weaponized as an Oblit.
