Wraith776
Hey everyone, just the other day at school one of my teachers was throwing out some power tool cases. So I asked for one with the idea of turning it into a case for carrying my models. Im just wondering what i should use as packaging and where i would would get it. Preferably from an australian store. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275472-making-a-carry-case/ Share on other sites
Disruptor_fe404
I don't know Australian stores, but your own version of Plastic Box or Para Rubber should have foam that you can cut. Failing that, ask someone at your local Mitre 10/Bunnings/Placemakers. Again, not sure which of those exists in Oz. Gurth
I suggest sound insulation foam — buy a sheet in a hardware store and cut it to fit your carrying case. Two pieces of this, with the points towards each other, will hold normal figures easily; if you have bigger models like dreadnoughts etc., you can combine it with styrofoam chips. I've used almost nothing else to carry my gaming models for the past decade or so, though with a bit more style than your plastic tool case: http://gurth.home.xs4all.nl/troep/carryingcases.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275472-making-a-carry-case/#findComment-3371983 Share on other sites
Kaedes Nex
They make you lug around ammo cans enough for a lifetime in the military. I'd imagine most veterans wouldn't want to be within a 100 mile radius of those things. Gurth
Probably, but I'm not a military veteran — just someone who was in need of a sturdy box to carry models in, when my eye fell on those, that I had bought about a decade earlier as reference material for real modelling. And admit it, if you are going to carry wargames models around, this is probably the most style you can do it with Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275472-making-a-carry-case/#findComment-3372531 Share on other sites
Wraith776
Nice cases, wish i had a few spare ammo crate hanging around. I'll check if the local Mitre 10 has any.
