Griz
Hey everyone - looking to get some ideas/feed back on building up a grey hunter pack. I'm looking to use more dynamic and less static legs then the traditional GH pack includes (or even the generic vanilla pack) and I've gone over some ideas. I know the assault squad pack legs might be one avenue and then there's the Vanguard Veteran squad but they have a few UM markings on the legs. Any suggestions as to something that can be used? Token
I think khorne berserkers have some running legs. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275619-grey-hunter-models/#findComment-3373742 Share on other sites
Nadir
Yup, Zerkers all the way. With all those chains and stuff. But remember to shave chaos arrows and Khorne thingies. Griz
From what I've read the Khorne Berserker legs are a little bit to large in comparison to the normal SM torsos? Anyone have any experience doing this before hand? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275619-grey-hunter-models/#findComment-3373841 Share on other sites
skeletoro
I'm currently building up two grey hunters packs - one laying down suppressing fire (ccw + bp holstered) and one charging into combat, chainblades whirring. For the charging dudes, I'm using a bit of a mix. Here's the main places I've sourced running legs: Assault squad (which have 1 mk vii and 1 mk vi option - although the sprues I've been using have been sitting around since 3rd ed and may have been updated) Forge World Mk vi Corvus squad - contain 2x running mk vi legs, in a different pose to the ones from the Assault squad. Forge World Legion Mk iv Maximus squad - contain 5 different leg options. Some of them are walking. Repositioning standing legs - this is kinda challenging but not TOO bad, though it is very time consuming. For my mk viii wolf guard pack leader that I'm converting, I've taken some basic tactical legs, cut at each joint (hips, knees, ankles), and threaded the bits onto a piece of brass wire. Then you can position it how you like - including using a jumping pose. You'll need to resculpt the ribbed parts between the armour plates, which is probably the hardest part of the job (I have yet to attempt!). Also, if you're doing a jumping pose, you may want to use some "pointed" feet instead of "flat" feet to make the pose look more natural. Anyway, that's what I've come up with so far. The khorne berserkers option is an interesting one! I'll have to look into that... Rift Blade
Take a look at Anvil Industry. They have some nice sets of legs in 2 or 3 styles. I wouldn't use their Praetorian legs myself but that's my opinion but the others are really good. Castellan Michael
I have used berserker legs and they are are a perfect size per GH torsos. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275619-grey-hunter-models/#findComment-3374000 Share on other sites
Khine
The death company / sanguinary guard packs have some more dynamic legs but the are covered in blood angels bits to file down.CSM raptors have some interesting leg poses. Can take off the claws on the feet and the rocks beneath them. It would take a bit of repositioning but they probably have the best potential for some truly significant poses.
