XKhalilX
So i am painting up some Tau (yes yes I know, burn heretic). and i was thinking of using nurgling flesh (Rotting Flesh in old range) as the base color of their armor. I was wondering what is a good highlight color for it? I know they have underhive ash as a dry brush. For Tau I think dry brushing wont capture all the straight lines so smoothly as line highlighting would. so any suggestions for a non-drybrush color? Razblood
You could always mix some Underhive Ash with some water, this will make it like a regular layer paint. Failing that just add Praexti White to the Nurgling flesh in increments, say one drop PW to 2 drops NF increasing the white as you go till it looks right to you. XKhalilX
i was under the impression thr drybrush paints were formulated in a way that u couldnt add water as itf be chalky or lumpy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275657-good-color-to-highlight-nurgling-flesh-rotting-flesh/#findComment-3374910 Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
You should actually be able to add some water to a Dry paint just fine, it shouldn't be chalky. You could also try the Edge Paint Gauss Blaster Green, but I haven't seen any FLGSs carrying the edge paints. Chaeron
I believe it was mentioned that they were mail order only! Alternatively, mix with some white or another light colour to bring it up further? Bryan Blaire
 That's probably why I hadn't seen any then! :D. Perhaps I will give a couple a shot one day. Yes, mixing a lighter color, depending on the hue you are working toward (more cream, yellow, light green, etc), is probably a good way to go as well.
