Warpedpath Posted May 19, 2013 Author Share Posted May 19, 2013 in fact theweathering was quite simple... blistersponge technique... 3 different colours, then a bit metalmedium(valejo) and 2 different colours of pigments(valejo).... the mud is a simple mix of earth(my garden) for some texture, natural umber(valejo and a painting medium from valejo...bit messy but was worth the try! probably I will have the time to finish it tomorow. Warpedpath Posted July 2, 2013 Author Share Posted July 2, 2013 So... it has been quite a while, but here are some pics of my newest Project ( forgot to take pics of the older projects, sry for that, if I can I will do them later), as Tommy said they would make more sense over here... for reasons of simplicity, i will copy+paste the thread: Hey mates, finaly I got my hands on some of the HH Miniatures of the FW range, but not only some ordinary Minis, far from it!Angron, Loken and Abaddon visited me last Week and thats why I started to build them, and afterwards I will paint them. In time there will be the other Primarchs and important Characters in this thread too, so stay tuned and feel free to coment! First,I started building the base for the duel, I have to say, realy nicework with tihs little piece of art, no mould failures to correct but...well there was one thing I disliked about it... they send an oval basewith it, where one can place the debris-scene on... but it only fillsca. 50% of the base! Something I could not, would not stand in theroom, so I started to fill up the base with some kork(cork? dont knowthe exact word sry)... it gained some height, what seemd legit in myeyes, next step was cutting it in the right shape of the base andbuilding a smooth way between base and scenery... The 2nd step wasto think about the many tiny details the base has... skulls, skeletons,helmets, debris, parts of walls, pipes and so on and how to copy thegrade of detail for the self builded part, but(!!!) without overloadingit!While unpainted it may not seem to look as it could distract fromthe minis in the end but there´s quite a lot of stuff on the base...thats why i decided to do a bit less stuff. Right now, there aresome self sculpted broken wallparts and bricks 2 skulls from the secretweapons range, a solitary boltgun and a broken pipe... oh yes and ashoulderpad on the backside, plus a mix of sand/earth to cover the cork. Warpedpath Posted February 15, 2016 Author Share Posted February 15, 2016 So... it has been a long long time since i posted something hobby conected, and thats simply because... well I wasnt able to do anything hobby conected for more than a year now.I have had a quite unpleasent accident at work( a rack hit my face with aprox. 120 Kilo weight behind that punch) and as an aftermath a broken Cheekbone and had the softer contents of my head a little bit tossed aroud in the inside, with the long time effect that i could keep my hands steady for long.this resultet in a bunch of ruined miniatures, several frustraded, raging explosions, some FW Casts that colided with walls until i decided, quite heavyhearted, that I could not do this hobby anymore and I packed all my stuff into boxes, and it went down into the cellar. A good friend of mine noticed all of this, how the lack of the hobby I have been participating for over 16 years, changed my general mood( I became quite depressed, and well lets say I havent been the nicest guy since this happened), and so he...well... forced me to restart and gifted me with the Betrayal at Calth Box last year.I was tempted to kill him for rubbing that much salt in my wounds but... I was also tempted to try again... learn how to blend again, how to weather and so on, and after another pile of ruined miniatures and several flying objects that never were meant to fly, I suppose I am now ready to start sharing my progress with you again!I will start with the Cataphracti of the new Betrayal at Calth Box and simply because I realy realy like the colours... I start a Sons of Horus armyHopefully the results wont be to bad ( if I start remembering how to put up pictures here... xD ) and by this Time on wednesday there should be some progress on the first 5 Guys( planing at least one 10 guys squad of them... after all I own Abadon and he needs some protection :D ) that i can share with you!So long... cya! It is even more awesome when that someone starts a heresy army, and even better on top of all that, when said heresy army is the same as your own. This one is going to war with 2 Boltpistols as you will see in the next update.
