Honor markings question

So long story short I had a wolf guard with bolter attached who was with a squad of long fangs. During a game against some fellow wolves he made an incredible last minute shot to kill a thunderwolf lord with runic armor and storm shield. My buddy could've look out sir'd but said no ill give him a chance for honors and rolled a one! Great game lots of fun!

So my question is how would I show honor markings for such similar feats of awesomeness on infantry? How do most of you achieve this? Is there something fluffy that would be fun to incorporate? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Nice, but too similar with BC symbol I think.

I do not believe that is a specific 'BC symbol'.

In 2nd Ed they wore red/yellow pauldrons with honour symbols on top for leaders and then 3rd Ed offered the option of using honour symbols as a pack marking. The latest codex offers a combinaton of the two, but no single symbol was reserved for a certain pack type. It is the colour combination that is important. :)

I normally go with putting honour symbols on a poleyn or gauntlet, but there are no hard and fast rules.

You are right about the paw. Thats why I've wrote "similar". There are also some paws at the new WGtermi armor. Still, for an opponent it could be confusing... But who cares;) If it will be clear for your adversary that colours on the pouldrons are the important thing not the symbol, it should be ok.
