Chris Hadden
I came into possession of a land raider Achilles from a friend who is getting out of the hobby. My question is.... He used Color change (mystic) enamel paint. I'm not sure how to strip the stuff. Or will I end up just damaging the resin and plastic instead? Greylocke
I would try Simple Green and an old toothbrush first. That usually works fairly well without damaging the model. Some of the tight areas might need some extra attention with a wooden toothpick. The trick is to soak it overnight, scrub it and repeat as needed. Fibonacci
The bad news is that these paints ar often oil based which means they have thinners that tend to etch plastic. The good news is if is color to clear changing, there will be a base coat under the color changing paint that will have protected the plastic from the thinners. Start with the household degreaser method. Simple Green, Purple Power, Faery Power Spray, Detol, etc. This will not harm the model at all so you may as well give it a shot. Soak for 24 hours and then wash it off with an old toothbrush. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275768-stripping/#findComment-3375944 Share on other sites

xPeRt
If you a Dollar General or Family Dollar in your area, pick up some LA's Totally Awesome. Really good stuff, better than Purple Power, Simple Green and others Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275768-stripping/#findComment-3376388 Share on other sites
