Hello,

Iv looked back and can't find a topic in the last 10 pages, so thought I'd ask..

What do you out on your scrollwork on your models? I'm in mid painting a dc box set red, and have thought there's a heck of a lot!!

Surely there's only so many times you can put 'Baal' lol

Random latin words or phrases always work, depending on the scroll size

Mortis / Mortuus / etc...

Sanguine or variants

Dominus (good for leaders)

Judiciarius / Jurisdictio / etc...  For bonus points, remember latin doesn't actually use a "J".  (Iurisdictio)

Praetor

Praxis

Quaestio(nis) (good for Librarians)

Divinitas

Valens (strong)

Infensus (aggressive/hostile)

Some example phrases:
Fiat lux ('let there be light')

Imperiti docendi ('the unlearned need to be taught')

Insidiantes cavendi ('guard against insidious enemies')

Memento mori ('remember that you will die')

Obviously phrases are more useful for vehicles.

Just find some cool latin phrases and bastardize them into High Gothic, lol.  As for the soldiers, just go for latin-sounding names...  Also, put symbols and scribbles for text that is too small to be read.

I did some scroll work today, here is an old link with some inspiration: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254001-angelic-inscriptions/

Thank you for pointing the Theredknight to this. I'd also like to add that this is a living document and has been added to quietly since it's internment in the resource library. The last update was this afternoon. I added a few more words to the list and it has many link I think people will find useful.
