TDAWG load outs

Depends on the role, but I usually go:

5 TDAWG in drop pod

Cyclone missile, Power Axe, SB (he will be hiding in back, so the I1 is less detrimental)

4 x Combi plasma (the dp should help you avoid av14)

With 2 krak missiles and 8 plasma shots at 12", something is going to die. They have never fail to destroy or maim their primary target and after they unload, they will become huge bullet magnets. In a Loganwing list, they can score as well (if they live)

Combiweapons are gold as TDA can't get the bonus attack from anything but two specialist weapons.

I like everything this guy had to say and I feel it is a great unit to throw at an enemy and create a huge distraction on turn one. It's also great to destroy that one really good unit he is drooling over to use against you. Personally I find it good policy to throw a Storm Shield on the Cyclone TDAWG just to give him some extra protection. Sometimes having a melta or two in their is sweet for taking down something big with lots of Armor (LR or Defilier.. something of the likes). I haven't tried x4 plasmas and quite frankly I am feeling like an idiot for not realizing all this time I should have been rapid firing those plasmas... *sigh* wont be making that mistake again.

I think they are great in a logan list and as above, combi weapons all the way. got my first forgeworld unit!! and hoping to use them for my wgtda.

I have this list ready to try out!

caetus assault ram, 8 WGTDA 7 combi's cyclone combat weapons galore / logan / rune priest. 36 move my first turn to anything 2nd turn unload and charge and win. biggrin.png 980pts! biggrin.png

I've been podding this pack recently:

Power Axe / Combi Plas

Power Axe / Combi Melta

Wolf Claw / Combi Plas

Wolf Claw / Combi Melta

Power Sword / Storm Bolter / Cyclone Missile Launcer

Drop Pod

It's been very nice as a take on anything kind of unit, my only thought is to remove an axe from it for an additional initiative attack. I've also experimented with replacing the CML with a Heavy Flamer for going after Tau and Eldar hiding in the bushes. It's not too bad and easy on the already high point cost per model. Assault Cannons have really disappointed me. In 5th Edition I ran an AssCan on my TDAWG pack that ran with Logan, but recently its either been a Flamer of nothing except maybe Arjac depending on the point level.

End of Line
