Greenstuff fire?

Fire punch as in flaming fist?

As far as GS Flames go, I put a glob of GS where I want the flames, roughly form a cone with my fingers (smooth surface is kind of important unless you want fingerprints on your flames later), lightly pinch it with my clippers (the ones I use for taking bits out of the sprue) to form the rough shape and let it sit for about 20 minutes or so. Once the GS isn't as soft anymore I go back with needles and a knife to define smaller flames and give it a little structure, pulling out the fine points.

For a flaming fist I'd probably put a wire in the fist along the swing's arc motion. Then I'd form the cone on the wire smoothing it onto the fist, leaving the fist itself largely untouched by GS and form a firey swipe on the wire describing the punch's motion.

Then I'd paint the fist near white and the flames whatever color I'd want them.

Hope that explanation makes sense.

There are a few out there that I used... but after retrieving those links they appear to have died.

When I had a go it turned out like this -

All you do is put some green stuff on the area you want to be aflame, and then gently stab it with a crafting knife and drag it.
They key thing to remember while doing this is that heat rises... so either drag it up... or hold it upside down and drag it down.

Don't do too much at a time... do it in segments... let it set and carry on

Poor explanation I know...but I hope it helps

Ok, so let me ask you guys how I did, sorry the pictures arnt the best

I like it. Looks good.

I'd add a lick of flame or two on the forearm, blending into the fire some more. I looks like it sits on top of the forearm rather than the forearm actually being on fire (mainly in the pic from the front) but other than that it should look good when painted. Looks like fire. thumbsup.gif

I think i see what you mean. Currently it has a tiny gap between the GS and the arm and that makes it look seperated as opposed to attached. That's what you're referring to? If we're on the same page, I think if I make the one or two licks of flame so that they are overlapping, or shadowing if you will, that gap, then it should be all set.

Right?

Thanks for the response too

Just caught up with this

Thanks guys... And that looks cool, but what is it? A bird on fire or is it like a spell?

Yeah, it's my Deathwatch librarian using some form of psychic power... He's a Blood raven, so I thought having a bird manifestation would be good.

You seem to have got the hang of it pretty quick!
Looks good!

Thanks! I've recently added another lick of flame to that one spot. I'm trying to figure out if there's any other spots I can add fire to him and not overdo it. I'll add another pic later.

I'm also debating weather or not I want to keep the armor simple or make it more elaborate....
