Blood Claw delivery - LRC vs SotH

Hello folks - Quick and simple question; I would like to run blood claws (going to magnetise the backpacks so I can run them as Sky claws as well (using assault marine legs and wolf pack bodies)), BUT how do i deliver them?:

14 blood claws, wolf priest and wolf guard in LRC vs 15 blood claws, wolf priest (w/ saga of the hunter) and wolf guard

N.B. I know blood claws aren't that effective/efficient vs GH, however I'm sick of painting just GH (already got 3 big packs of them), I'd like to run a big unit of screaming nutters (character - round out my growing GC) and it would hopefully take emphasis away from the GH packs.

TO CLARIFY - LRC vs SotH

Any advice/experiance comparing these two methods would be very much appreciated!!

Cheers!

I used to run the land raider option with my blood claws and it worked alright. The biggest issue with it was this unit is a huge point sink the option with LRC and wolf priest will run you over 600 points for an alright unit. Where as if you just run them on foot you can get the extra free special weapon and wolf priest and guard for around 350 points. The land raider option is great for maybe 2500 point games but below that I wouldn't recommend it

well, seeing how BC are an assaultunit, and you can't assault after coming on the board via outflank, you'd have to be vry carefull about where you let them come on. with a LRC, you don't have that problem...

then again, saga of the hunter vs LRC is a HUGE point difference...

thanks for the replies!!!

the points cost i can live with if the land raider will inflict enough damage itself and ensure safe delivery of the nutters inside, so the balance is the amount of damage that can be inflicted by the opposition on the blood claws as they slog towards the opposition with SotH vs the output of the raider and the safety of its contents.

No point having 300+ points spent on the slogging claw unit for it to be wiped off the board... i'd rather double the cost and have the contents and vehicle survive

i suppose the question boils down to can the claws get across the board consistently without being rendered ineffective on the way?

The Land Raider rush can certainly work, but land Raiders need to be taken in multiples. One Land Raider is melta-bait. Two Land Raiders is a gamble against certain armies, but can be succesful. Three or Four*? One or Two of them is going to get there, and the payload is going to make a real mess (Although Grey Hunters in a Redeemer will work just as well).

*Fourth comes from the Wolf Guard's Dedicated Transport.
