First 6th Edition Game with Battle Report(pic heavy)

And when I say battle report, I mean what I drew in paint based on memory.

 

Well tonight I finally had my first 6th Edition game and got to use my Sisters of Battle vs Space Marines.

Mission: The Emperor's Will

 

Here is the army I played:

 

HQ - Saint Celestine                              

T - Battle Sister Squad w/ two flamers

      w/ Rhino                                          

T - Battle Sister Squad w/ two flamers

   w/ Rhino                                         
F - Domino (5 - 2 w/meltas)

w/ Rhino

H - Exorcist x 3                                       
 

The Space Marine player picked the table and we both picked random sides. The terrian was all ready on there and we didn't move anything. He won the roll to place first and go first. After we both placed, I was able to steal the inititive. From here I quickly learned that the Space Marines player was new to the game yet as you will see below.

In the Assault I missed all of my attacks and a powerfist instantkilled me. On His turn he fired a little more. My next turn (turn 3 I think) Saint Celestine Came back and killed all the assult units and all my shooting finished the rest of his figs. 

 

After the game I talked to the guy for awhile and explained some better tatics he could use in the future. Like having a Rhino for the tac squad, deploying into cover and actually have for HQ be with a unit and help out. 

 

The guy was a lot older than me so I assumed from the start that it would be a good battle, i.e. he knew the rules a little better. If i would have know otherwise; from the start I would have gave him pointers during the game. He was a pretty cool guy though. Took what I said to heart and wants a re-match in the future.

 

I'm just happy to get in one 6th edition game before tomorrow, where I get to really test my wit in a 1850pt tournament. Not enough Sisters though, so bringout the Grey Knights!

The only thing better than a gracious newbie is a gracious newbie who wants a rematch. :)

 

He was mostly using Black Reach models, wasn't he? Or DV? >> Because really, his only having 1 Troops unit should have tipped you off that he was fairly new.

 

Nice luck popping the Predator with your Exorcist though. I'd have done it the other way round - saved the Dominions for that, scouting them forward for a first turn kill, and using the Exorcist on the devastators. That's just me, though, I find Exos are better at anti-infantry. :) Meltaguns spoil me.

Everyone starts somewhere, good job on giving him some pointers after the game. Soon you'll be engaged in close battles where victory comes down to the last rolls and you can be proud that you helped him on his way :)
