It was a blast to get these guys completed and to be able to compete in that event. I was lucky enough to win the Emperor's Champion Award! (I believe the top Loyalist player that didn't win Best Overall). The lads took a victory lap recently and posed for pictures! Enjoy the pictures, feel free to ask questions. Deus de Mortalis Posted May 25, 2013 Share Posted May 25, 2013 You should increase the depth of field of most of those pictures, and reduce (or don't increase) the contrast because that washes out a lot of the detail.<br /><br />But from what I see, I love your army. I really enjoy seeing these pre-heresy forgeworld armies all built-up and painted! Its really because I like the shallow depth of field images. Sure, I get it, you lose a bit of the details with all of the models. But I am trying to make a more "creative" attempt at displaying the models. But after seeing your comments, and reading some of the comments on other threads I see now that the community really likes more depth of field. Good call on less contrast. Looking back at the process my standard adjustments added contrast to my regular landscaping photos. Not great for miniature pictures. I'll shoot some more and post the results. @Grey Mage - an airbrush. :) Start with the modern equivalent of bone white and then start adding white until its almost all white. Each pass of the airbrush adds more depth to the white. Glazes go the shadows and under the rivets. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
