claw marks?

I want to put in some claw marks on my models any ideas and if you have successfully done it pics would be great cheer s

I'll try and dig out some pictures later but say its a 3 claw scratch on blue armour Id do the following 

 

Firstly paint 3 evenly spaced lines in dark grey This is where the ceremite is showing through

Then paint above each of the 3 lines a hair line in black. This should extend beyond the grey at either side. This is for the shadow line

Then paint a light blue (as Im on blue armour) hair line at the bottom the same length as the top. This is the highlight where its catching the light. 

 

Heres an example I did on the white and blue. All the damage on the helmet and leg are painted on
