Dark En Raul13
"The tales of the Fallen Knights are long and storied my friend, to try and explain them all would take a lifetime...in short they are some of the most loyal servants of the Imperium, dedicated to destroying Chaos worshippers and the corruption they spread...But at the same time they are some of the most shamed, hated and self-loathing of all the Emperor's Astartes..." ORIGINS: Buried deep in the bowels of the chapters fortress-monastery sit the precious but scarce records regarding their origins. Amidst the treasured chapter relics and accounts of their victories sit these records, buried deep so that none other than the chapter may find them. The chapter was founded during the twenty first founding in an attempt to repair the flaws present in their primarch's gene-seed. The attempt to repair these flaws appeared to have been a success and the chapter reached its full strength within a century of being created. For almost a millennia no signs of mutation were present within the ranks of the Fallen Knights, until the closing years of M37. These years are regarded as 'the fall' of the Fallen Knights as these years were the first to show the two mutations that the space marines are burdened with. The first causes the chapter's marines to develop a number of plant-like growths across the body that spread from the Black Carapace implant, Ossmodula zygote and Larraman's organ. Root-like growths spread from areas of the body on the forearms, chest, shoulders and temples of the marine, spreading across the body usually following the pattens of veins beneath the skin. Alongside these growths are large, branch like growths that sprout from the spinal column. These growths produce leaves and other 'branches' and can grow throughout the marines lifetime unless removed, the leaves of these 'branches' allow photosynthesis to occur and allow the marine to produce food within his body, one of the more helpful traits of their mutation. The second of these mutations doesn't actually come from a specific gene-seed organ, it seems to originate from the original gene-seed of the primarch. Each of the marines, including the few librarians of the chapter, have a watered down pariah gene. This gene causes the soul's of the marines to be near non-existent. This mutation causes the few Librarians of the chapter to have incredibly short lifespans, extremely weakened psychic powers and constant pain felt throughout their body. This gene has caused the marines to be deployed against many psychic opponents because the gene causes discomfort in the being, weakening them to a degree. However it has made the marines disliked by practically all other chapters in existence, causing co-operation between chapters to be difficult. It has also sparked many questions by the marines themselves as to who their primarch is, since no known primarch's had the pariah gene. However all records on their primarch are long forgotten and the Adeptus Mechanicus for some reason refuses to divulge who their primarch was. Alongside this the Inquisition refuses to find answers to this question, saying the matter was forbidden to be spoken of long ago by the Emperor himself. HOME WORLD: The Fallen Knights home world of Oblitus is a feral world, its population choosing ancient tools over any form of technology. The planet's population live on large fishing villages that float across the near endless oceans of the planet, none of the population live on any of the 26 small islands that dot the planets surface due to them being to unsafe due to an outbreak of the zombie plague that destroyed the island settlers long ago. The population favour bows, spears and swords made from wood and shaped flint over more modern technology, seeing even a crossbow as to 'modern'. The people are a hardy race that have adapted to living on the rough oceans of their planet on the huge boat-like floating villages of theirs. This hardiness makes the population ideal recruits for the Fallen Knights, and any who wish to join their ranks must set off alone from their villages and travel to the great floating fortress. The Forgotten's lair. This huge construct floats across the planet much like the floating villages, its huge structure towering over any other construct on the planet. It is a large fortified cathedral. The left side of the building playing host to landing pads and huge orbital weaponry. The right side has a number of extension's from it, housing the secrets within. The back of the fortress is guarded by numerous weapons platforms connected to the huge tower of the cathedral, the very top of the tower being the meeting place of the chapter's chapter master and his captains. ORGANISATION: The chapter is organised into nine different companies, the first and second companies being the most elite of the entire chapter. Each company holds around 80 marines including the captain/chapter master (9 of whom serve as the captains guard), 10 scouts who train under them and around 10 vehicles. The ninth company is the defensive company, comprised of elite veterans who are tasked with safe guarding the planets around Oblitus from any threat. The chapter is 1000 marines strong, 900 marines serve in companies, the other 100 serve as the personal protectors of Oblitus. These marines constantly serve at the Forgotten's lair, the numerous floating villages or as hunter squads tasked with hunting down the zombies that may still survive on the islands of the planet. These warriors are often scouts, and the guarding of the planet often serves as their initial training in the field. BELIEFS: The chapter holds many beliefs, one of the core ones being that its Primarch is in fact the Forgotten primarch. They try to justify this belief by trying to discover the origin of their gene-seed, of which the Adeptus Mechanicus will not reveal and neither will the Inquisition. This makes the marines determined to discover any link's they may have with the Forgotten and therefore makes them borderline mad with determination to find a link. Another belief the chapter holds is that it is their sacred duty to destroy the plans and diseases of the chaos god Nurgle. In M40 the zombie plague was released into the island settlements of Oblitus by chaos cultists. The entire land dwelling population was destroyed and turned into walking corpses, all two billion of them. This outbreak practically destroyed the recruiting grounds of the Fallen Knights and if it hadn't been for the floating villages the chapter would have perished. Since that day the chapter has focused on the eradication of Nurgle's forces from the galaxy, and holds this duty above all others, mainly due to the fact in their minds that if the lord of decay is destroyed then the decaying Emperor shall arise from the golden thrown and destroy the other chaos gods. and that's all I have so far, so what do you think Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/276301-the-fallen-knights/ Share on other sites
