The Commissar order you to be motivated

Hello fellow guards

Every Subforum has a motivational thread, and I thought that we should have one too. But we have something they don't, we have a Commissar with a boltpistol to the back of our heads laugh.png, and we fight for a more noble goal, we fight for 100% completions. We are the backbone of the empire, we are the anvil on the holy god Emperor, recruited from countless worlds we are billio...well... we are 6 guards.

If you reading this and haven't made a pledge yet, you are hereby ordered by the Commissar to man the paintstation. Remeber this, a uncompleted vow is punished with a bolt to the head.

This thread is meant to serve as an motivation to the few brave souls that sees that under ETL the guard is the army worthy of your time and efforts. The intention was to motivate each other, answer some questions one might have, tell everyone about your progress.

This thread may fall flat due to our low number of recruits, but I hope it won't.

Dedicated to our cause is:

Do you think that you deserve to be on this list, well all that you need to do is make a vow.

For the Emperor

I primarily play Death Korps of Krieg, although I have none available to paint for this challenge, so I consider Commissars to be far too laid back and cowardly.  They're really only there to be the loving and compassionate face of the regiment when dealing with others.  The rest of the time they keep trying to stop our glorious bayonet charges against the likes of Orks, Tyranids, Khornate Daemons, or what have you, claiming they only wish to see the Emperor's resources not squandered.  Heresy and cowardice!  The men of Krieg live only to die for the Emperor!

Also, I did paint some of those lesser Guardsmen which brings my vow to 16.72% complete.

Honour your God-Emperor and make a vow no matter how small - even the man who has nothing can still offer his life a single model! smile.png

I'm really keen on us getting the best completion rate (ie 100% is the best by default tongue.png ), I've been working hard on my vow and planning it out carefully to be as efficient as I can. Soon I'll have the main coats on the tanks done and can finish the details in short order leading me free to focus on the main piece - the Vendetta biggrin.png

Keep up the good work everyone, for the Emperor!

I feel like I should be sent for a discipline interview with our favourite storm coat wearing gentlemen as I just cannot help out my IG bretheren in this challenge....

Don't tell Captain Semper but I will only have time to complete the 1 small vow for the DA - RL has struck with work commitments over the next month or so. wallbash.gif

The 100% completion target will show the other forums that the Guard are a force to be reckoned with even though we are a small group at the moment.

Best of luck to all those taking part.

Great initiative here Sviar!

C'mon! where is the mailed fist if the IG? Send those Leman Russes straight to the front line! And the Air Cav!

The Vive Imperium is really close to the SWs but you really need more participants. At this point it's doable - just 7 more and you'll be in the 30+ club! Don't worry about the points right now - there'll be a time to worry later... So take your Oath of Moment and bear  it proudly in your sig (see 1st post in the IG Strategium thread)...

Now Commissar Sviar needs you - will you answer?

* Elmo please step into my office*

couldn't have put it better sviar. the guard have had a bit of a fight to just be on the board, so we need to prove we can achieve our goals as a well maintained disciplined machine. its achievable, and i'm glad to be part of this group and stand proud with the others who take up this challenge in the name of the IG sub-forum. even if we only end up doing 1 vow each, it will be better to get that 100% completion with painted models held with pride at the end, than multiple vows with a sense of stress to complete at the end.

lets fly our banners high and get those glasses ready to raise chaps. it is an honour and a privilege to serve with you comrades thumbsup.gif

I do not have much time to paint, but that is not the reason why my vow isn't finished. Let me explain why my LeMan Russ vow is taking such a long time. In my mind a camo pattern would look good, in reality it looked...well...lets say it could have looked a lot better. So I had to take a black paint pot and a brush and ruin most of my work. I have almost cought up to the Point where I though "hey a camo scheme will look awesome, lets research what kind I want".

So first let me apologize to my fellow ETL guards for my really slow progress. But if I'm not done tomorrow It will be done on monday.

Good weather today, so I naturally spent it indoors painting :P Just a few last touch ups tomorrow and my tanks are all done, praise the Omnissiah. I'm looking forward to just doing a single model afterwards! Perhaps I might be first Guardsman to complete a vow? I challenge someone to beat me to it! :D

@warriorfish challenge unaccepted, with this much flesh to paint, i'd happily do a tank or 2 as a vow tongue.png but progress is good and am onto the rough riders atm, so i'm on track in regards to what i want to finish.

liking seeing people's vows so far, i reckon we're on track tbh. good work peeps. thumbsup.gif

Sorry comrades, I truly intended to enter a vow but didn't realize that ETL would be closed on Jube 15th ... Must have missed they along the way. I had a couple big trials end of May/beginning of June (I'm a lawyer) and just came up for air this past week.

It won't help for ETL but just for pride and moral support I'm going to do the penal legion and inquisition-themed CCS I had planned on pledging. That will teach me to procrastinate.
