I've been inspired to do some converting, so I wanted to start with turning the Land Speeder Vengeance into Sammael's Sableclaw. I don't like the Vengeance model as-is, and really, if Sammy's speeder is AV14 in the front and sides, I'd imagine it would be a little more robust than the normal speeder. As far as I can tell, there's no reason why this couldn't be Sableclaw. The entry just says it's a Land Speeder. The interesting thing is that if you under mount one of the Plasma Battery weapons on a regular speeder, it can easily be a "counts as" Vengeance. With the two (one left, one right) you can make 2 Vengeance speeders this way with the one weapon. Will post some pics later (when I buy more speeders). Furthermore, you can replace the tail of a regular speeder very easily with the Icon of old Caliban, to have your Darkshroud. Again, will post more pics later @the chaplain: I was surprised with that as well. I'm going to opt not to put them on. The icons are a perfect size though to fit on PA and or TDA legs.... I would have to agree with you about the size and armor value, definitely looks beefy. Just wish they had given the original model a higher armor value... captain sox Posted June 7, 2013 Author Share Posted June 7, 2013 @Adper and Artemid, thanks for the kind words. It's funny, When the Vengeance came out, I really wasn't a fan of the model at all. I did see some potential with the parts to make the Darkshroud and Vengeance out of the regular speeder model (which I'm a huge fan of). I ended up buying the kit to see what I could do/where it would fit into my army, and viola! Sableclaw! @Stobz, I was thinking of a few different weapon options for Sammael, but then I realized that he has no upgrade options. I had him holding a book instead of the pistol, but he looked daft... like he was taking a pee over the pulpit edge. @Galthan, hope it inspires you to do the same. The_Chaplain Posted June 7, 2013 Share Posted June 7, 2013 Don't be surprised if you see more people doing this conversion in the future sox- I think some of the DA players were confused on how to do the sableclaw, and you've provided some insight into the matter. It's a shame that the sammael models sword arm would be facing into the sableclaw instead of outward for a drive by slicing and dicing- I can't help but think how cool that intricate torso he's got would look sticking out of that parapet; cloak billowing in the wind and all. captain sox Posted June 7, 2013 Author Share Posted June 7, 2013 I'm sure someone will find a way to make it work. The crew, Sammy and the turret and TLHB aren't glued into place just yet... I want to keep my options open on Sammael. I basically just cut down one of the regular standing robe vet bodies at the knees to make it fit. Will likely try other options too. The turret is super easy. The TLAC that comes in the Ravenwing Upgrade fits as is. All that needs to be done is to trim 3 small rivets off the casing of each cannon, and your gold. That's all it took. I hope others do this conversion... it's easy and really makes sense for Sableclaw. I'll show how the bits for the Darkshroud and Plasma Storm fit on regular speeders too over the weekend sometime. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Stand by for updates on my colours. Going to Plan B. Will save my Blues for my Lizarmen.
