However happy I am with the above I am pretty p###ed off with myself as I think that I have ruined the Deathwing Terminators, its the faces that annoy me, I am fairly happy with the rest bearing in mind that it is all just base colour at the moment with no detail work done. I was thinking metallic faces silver/gold? Thoughts

Have started work on the Landspeeder and completed the inside of the cockpit, now to work on the driver, gunner and exterior and will be complete, then work will begin on the Land Raider and finally will be basing the models once I discover what the various gaming groups tables look like

So first things first, no updated photos yet (hopefully tonight) BUT I have decided to do Angels of Vigilance over the Skull Bearers, why? Well that it because I seem to have fallen in love with Painting Dreadnoughts and Terminators so have decided to do the 1st Company from the Angels of Vigilance as I did not enjoy painting Black Skulls on everything and quiet like the array of bits that I can use for the Angels from the WHFB High Elf Range (mostly from the Phoenix Guard Spruce)

Thank you, I'm still looking forward to seeing your Skull Bearers, I may re visit them once I have improved my freehand (plus Deathwing lists are a little more financially viable for me at the moment)

Right then, firstly hopefully a better picture of my completed vow (all except the Landspeeder which I dropped and it shattered into pieces prior to me taking a photo of it - damn old version typhoon model with metal typhoon launchers)

http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa447/ratvan85/2013-06-24200626_zps2871ea0d.jpg

Photo isn't really all that much better........I need a camera my phone just isn't cutting it

Detail of the Multi Melta Gunner on the Land Raider Crusader (Just looking at the photo I notice a part that I have missed already)

http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa447/ratvan85/2013-06-24200353_zpsbe69366b.jpg

And finally tonights WIP offering 5 Scouts - BP & CCW

http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa447/ratvan85/2013-06-24202903_zpsa42cfb1a.jpg

A few washes needed on cerain area's (cloth) I may highlight to white or leave them grey, at the moment I am undecided

I also had a small issue last night...ran out of primer so only really have 10 'vets' and 5 devastators to work on after the completed scouts

http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa447/ratvan85/2013-06-25070355_zps7980c1d0.jpg

But this gives me a chance to pick up a few other bits on Thursday ready for vow 3, so in the meantime I may attempt my first sculpting with greenstuff, also have a wedding this weekend (not mine) so painting will be in small supply until next week.

That's a shame about the land speeder (I have the same model so I know the dangers!), the WIP shots of the interior looked great. sad.png

The thing that is really annoying me is that the top part of the landspeeer no longer fits the chassis, I think that it must have buckled slightly when I dropped it. The weapon rail also broke but that's hidden under the weapon itself so is not so much of an issue

Guys am after a bit of input here, I know that Vow 1 us completed (and will base the whole army as one) but I cannt help but think that I should break up the yellow somehow. I look at the tacticals and think that something is missing where as the Dread works well due to the metallic areas.

At a loss really on what to do, I could try red bolters (since I don't want violet plasma not an issue) but not convinced that this will solve the issue. Maybe some battle damage?

Appreciate your thoughts on this

I was considering black/granite knee cap with white motif/squad marking

Might break it up a bit, I'll have a play tonight and hopefully get some photo's up while waiting for my primer to arrive

Ok so firstly I have tried the Red Bolter, which I think looks slightly better versus the black/metallic bolters I have painted currently

And now Charadon Granite 'knee guard' versus current all Yellow Scheme

Looking good so far brother!

Paint-wise I would say that the dark grey kneepad looks much better than the yellow one as it helps breaking up all the yellow.

I would also say that if you threw in a red line or company/ squad marking on that grey kneepad it would be downright awesome, the white might work too but I am a sucker for dark red on marines...
