Daemon2027 Posted June 25, 2013 Share Posted June 25, 2013 Im thinking of adding a Destroyer squad to my Alpha Legion who I think would have no problems in using such weapons, plus I think the scorched armour look would look cool. Is it best to equip them with jump packs, or to keep them on foot? Do you yhink they would be a good fit for the Alpha vLegion fluff wise? Coopervisor Posted July 5, 2013 Share Posted July 5, 2013 I've used these a couple of times now in my BA heresy list. Each time they perform well, but they are expensive especially with jump packs. As the rest of my force is either jump packs or jetbikes, they need to be able to keep up. I started with 5 armed with just jump packs and missile launcher. My last game I proxied a few more (waiting on a FW order) to round the squad out to 10, again with just jump packs and 2 missile launchers. I also take a Moritat (Plasma Pistols, Articifer armour, jump pack, refractor shield) to go with them, allowing them to scout and putting a real threat up close from the start. The rad missiles are really nice and the ability to fire on the move, taking out chunks of marine squads and crippling what ever is left over. They either take a hammering, allowing my other units an easier time getting forward or they hop around doing a lot of damage. Counter attack and hit and run (Rite of War: Angel's Wrath) are also nice little bonuses. The one thing I've not tried yet is phosphex grenades. The cost for a single shot weapon so far has put me off. Has anybody else tried these?
