Saga of the Hunter / Wolf Guard and Dedicated Crusader

Recommended Posts

if I have a wolf priest with SOTH and have bought a LRC for my WG (minimum size 3) then put two WG as an extra wound for LF and one in the LRC can I also put the wolf priest and a squad of GH in the LRC using he WG as a WGPL and then "outflank" with the whole squad

Unfortunatly Ethzor is basically right as I understand it. SAga of the Hunter would let any one unit & its dedicated transport outflank. The..ambiguity comes in when you split the WG pack up. The LRC is bought for the WG pack, not the GH pack & a GH pack cannot take an LRC as Dedicated Transport even though when you split the WG pack up the LRC has to go somewhere & when a WG becomes a pack leader he is part of that pack including any kit he has. I personally think GW should FAQ this but as always they take forever to get around to addressing these things. There is room for debate on it IMO. That being said. You could buy 7 WGTDA, 1 WG gunslinger, their dedicated LRC & the RP with Saga of the Hunter & you could outflank that unit.

I see no ambiguity - SotH allows an IC, plus an unit he is attached to and it's dedicated transport to Outflank. The SotH IC is attached to a Grey Hunter pack. The LRC is not the Dedicated Transport of the Grey Hunter pack. The Grey Hunter pack can not even start the game deployed in the LRC, because it was bought as a Dedicated Transport for another unit.

As DSW said, and is a result of the Wolf Guard rules- they are part of the pack they join, in ALL respects, once deployment begins. Theres no mixing of the two packs.

On the downside, wargear is already fixed at that point. On the upside if theyre the last surviving member of their pack theyre still scoring (GH or LFs in big guns, Swiftclaws in Scouring).

So no landraider shenaningans. You could outflank a Wolf Guard pack in said landraider though- wich sounds like fun to me.

Oh, it is, **mwahahahahahah**, it is...

Blackmane, SotH Wolf Priest, 10 Wolf Guard with an assortment of Power/Frost weapons, Land Raider Redeemer = upwards of 900pts.

The look on your opponent's face = priceless.
