I started the army with the intentions of making this a Mantis Warriors chapter, but i have been working on a DIY chapter that i am considering instead. My colors will be the same either way, emerald and gold, only the chapter symbol will be different. I just started these but i have plans to do more but it's always nice to get feed back from other players. The idea so far has been to do a crimson fist style army. The MW are severely under strength because their penance crusade so it's safe to say that they would have an abundance of veterans (and few lower ranking since they were forbidden to recruit). I nearly went MW back at the beginning of 5th ed before going First Founding. That champ/sarge is kick ass! I'm curious what other weapons you'll be churning out. But i have kind of ran into a bit of a snag. Not to get into a debate with ametuer historians out there but shields are not exactly a traditional piece of wargear for a samurai. This kind of presents a bit of a conundrum when it comes to strom/combat shields. I want to stick with the theme that i have going but i also don't want to get DQ for not being wysiwyg. The only thing that i can think of right now is to use a tessen and claim it's a shield. Other than that or giving him (my champion and possibly others later) a second weapon like a wakizashi and saying it's a "defensive weapon" but i don't think that i am going to be able to get away with that. I attempted to make his combat shield look like a tessen. I am on the fence about this so far but i will try some more and see how things turn out.
