Gideon Ravenor

Hello all,

As mentioned in my thread on the Crimson Hunters, I have a fondness for the character of Gideon Ravnor and would like to field him as the leader of a small Inquisitorial warband (don't like the idea of using grey knights, will use deathwatch with their rules tho).

Unofrtunately, I have absolutely no idea where to start converting the model. Has their ever been any artwork of Ravenor in his 'chair'? I was thinking of using the tracks from the thunderfire cannon as a base, but am otherwise a little clueless about that I could build.

Am also very interested in what the experienced players would say about how to field him on the battle field. Again, had a vague idea of a conversion beamer being in there somewhere (i'd prefer a shooty inquisitor to anything else) but am unsure about what would be effective.

I'm a total GK noob, so at the moment, I'm going 'ooh, that'd be neat!' without actually thinking about it too much :)

Any advice would be appreciated.

I've never read Ravenor, he's Ordo Xenos isn't he? I'd use 2 xenos inquisitors, and fill elites with 2 inquisitorial henchmen war bands and an assassin Maine have 2 small strike squads and ally with guard.

You could use Coteaz as he allows you to use as many Henchmen as you want.

Thanks for that, but I was hoping that there might be some artwork for him after his accident that left him in that life-support chair of his, and Coteaz's rules don't really do it for me: hes more close combat and Ravenor isn't going to be very good at that :)

As for the warband, I was thinking Jokaero and shooty crusaders with maybe a deathcult assassin or two in there.

Would be interested to see what loadout people think would represent ravenor himself best

Well there's been nothing official, but Aerion The Faithful on DeviantArt (whose warhammer fanart is AMAZING) did a rather nifty piece:

Obviously that's Ravenor's "chair" at the bottom. Might be a good place to start.

Good luck!

Od.

I think a psychic Ordos malleus in term. armor with a psycannon and emperyan brain mines will be able to represent him quite nicely on the battlefield.

Now, jokaero are going in, shall brook no argument on that one, but what do people think about the inquisitor war band?
