Drop Pod Capacity? Is it Ten Models or Twelve?

Recommended Posts

Looking at the GW website there is description of the drop pod which states their capacity as 12 models, 1 dreadnought or one thunderfire cannon.

Is this a legal capacity for our wolves to take or are we limited to the ten as listed in Codex SW?

This is important because it allows a GH squad to add a WGPL and a Character to give a little more hitty / killy power.

some wolf players bring ale on theirs, my wolves bring extra close combat weapons. i have an axe for everything and anything. it's kinda like golfing... huh an ork warboss, nice! I'll use my number 4 axe head. it's a little rusted and chipped but it's got character and takes a little longer to severe a head with, prolonging the fun in the murdermake.

Fun aside

whats in your dex is what you use for your army, there was a time a Assault cannon of the SW only shot 3 shots and was not rending when all other chapters used 4 shots and rending thats the way this game works

Your dex gives you your rules and overwrite the BBB rules

I think it's funny how GW had no problems updating our frost weapons in an FAQ, yet leave the drop pods as-is....

It's intentional. It would have been over-powered if on top of all our other advantages, we could have Drop Podded a full ten-man Grey Hunter pack with dual special weapons, an IC, and a WGPL (or TDAWGPL without the IC).

As it is, my understanding of the situation is that GW considers 12-man DPs as a mistake, which is being corrected with each new SM codex.

10 man droppods (and rhinos for that matter) are a mistake. clearly, if a pack consists of 10 marines, and a WG is leading them, they should be able to get in the Drop pod or rhino together.

but yeah, I understand gamebalance > fluff... don't like it all that much, but I understand.
