World Eater Cataphractii terminator army help.

Ok, I got a 20x set of Cataphractii terminators with chain
axes for Christmas. Thought I’d paint them blue and white and just run them as
CSM’s.

 

Just got HH betrayal book yesterday and now I’m needed help
building a list Heresy list.

 

Looks like I need an hq to make terminators troops. Can World
Eater terminator just take chain axes because they want too? I didn’t see axes
in the war gear options.

 

Any suggestions on other units? Maybe 2 Spartan Assault Tanks?...
they look sexy!

 

Right now I have:

Pair of lighting claws.

1x chain axes/ bolters

2x chain axes/ combi meltas

2x chain axes/ combi plasma

1x chain fist/ bolters

The other 10 are not put together or painted.

1st: The "chain axes" in the cataphractii set count as power weapons. You can even see the power nodes on the side of the axe head.

2nd: You dont need a terminator HQ to have terminator units, but you can only have TDA comand squad if your praetor is armoured in TDA.

The chain axes are just power axes count as.

 

You can take termies as usual but they will fill up your precious elite slots, and if you are planning for a larger army over 2000 points I would suggest relagating them to troops via getting a praetor and taking the rite of battle: pride of the legion

 

otherwise keep them as is and don't forget that they can score regardless of their slot ;)

 

As for Spartans, they tend to get expensive point wise but usually last the whole game due to durability. However, they are a complete pain in the butt when it comes to building them and i think you will find that catiphractii termies can usual survive well by slogging across the board in large squads.
